You claim the Christians that surround me are forcing their religion on you (oddly, I'm immune to the Svengali charms). You claim their god does not exist and we are all evolved over billions of years. You cry that when they want to outlaw the killing of the unborn or not give government sanction to unions that have no chance to procreate they are dictating morality.
And yet...
...all I hear is that I must pay for food, education, housing, medicine, clothing, technology, retirement, etc etc etc and if I fail to do so I am so absolutely, irredeemably immoral I am to be deprived of my rights free press, free thought, property and open political participation. You have deemed yourselves worthy to judge how much of my labor I will be allowed to keep. You will take from me to intervene into the lives of those who have chosen self-destructive ways for themselves and then you do so not to remediate but to sustain them in their self-destruction for as long as possible without gaining any change on their part. If I disagree I am wrong. If I protest. I am evil. If I complain, I am hated.
All of this is based on your moral precepts.
I can think of no Christian prescription to any issue that would take away from me in any meaningful way. Even in the case of abortion, being denied the legal sanction to kill the unborn is no more a disruption than sexual assault keeps me from getting laid.
Of all the religions I am confronted with, yours would do me the most harm.
