A free lunch?
« on: July 26, 2011, 03:31:01 PM »
I was driving through a town today and as I passed a public school I noticed a sign that read "free lunch" with an arrow pointing toward the rear of the school. It looked as if the sign had been out for a while. I know school is out here. I'm assuming school is out there. Are we paying for free lunches during the summer now? Who doing the eating?

In NY, we have something called a "Summer Feeding Program," which makes the kids sound like livestock.  Which might be accurate.

If they're at school to eat, they might as well be at school to learn.  What do they do in between meals?

YEP !!!!!! 2 meals a day here. Mama drops them off in her FORD Expedition with the $5,000 wheels and tires and you and me get to  feed'em and babysit'em while she goes to classes to learn how to access even more freebies both public and private.

Free to whom?

The meals didn't spontaneously pop into existence ex nihilo so who is being forced to labor for free?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

The meals are free to whomever they allow at the trough. I would assume that it's like everything else that is "free" in that we are the ones who are laboring for them.

I never knew we had that in New York until I saw this piece on the local news about it last month. I don't think this is in any of the suburban or rural districts, I wonder why that is? Nothing of the sort in the local district newsletters we receive here.

Check out the video~

(IIRC they ran a slightly different version of this story earlier that day and explained that those guys you see preparing the food in the kitchen are city jail inmates in a work release program)
