Regardless of fact, it's a lot more entertaining to accept the DUmp's blame for killing Andy. That entertainment is more valuable than anything he actually accomplished on this earth, which was nothing. I think we should allow the scamster to leave behind at least some tiny, meager legacy, even if it's just our derision and laughter.

I don't know if franksolich drove away hippywife; the tall, long-haired, quiet fellow peering from behind trees could have been anyone. But coach single-handedly shut down the cooking and baking forum. And that was funny, too.

I also think it's strange that when Skimmer allowed the DUmmies to change their usernames and keep their post counts, DUmmy hippywife didn't take that opportunity to correct the spelling that she screwed up during registration. Surely, she meant "hippiewife".

In my defense I would like to say I view an employee admitting to an insect infestation at a food service establishment a very serious breech of assumed confidentiality.  In these tough economic times the last thing a gem like PP needs is that kind of negative posting existing on the Google search engine.

If and when I go to Vermont I would like to be sure Perennial Pleasures is still in business so that -I- can enjoy Cream Tea whilst sitting upon a rattan chair.  Holding my pinky out, sipping tea, and being serenaded by the haunting calls of the Cochin is something I am sure anyone would fight for.

Am I selfish? Yes.  It has been a hot summer and my job is physically demanding so when I saw, perhaps, the only chance for me to be treated like a red hat society lady vanishing before my eyes I had to act to defend this crown jewel of the North East Kingdom.

Sadly, I am not able to explain this to the groupthink, and I will forever be known as a DU pariah.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but I guess I need to get it off my chest. I totally get the fact that we can't post at DU, and I totally get posting the political posts and we get to answer them here because we can't answer them there, but where do people draw the line? I know personally I avoid discussions that involve physical and mental illness, but even though she posted those things about her employer which was wrong wrong wrong, what would possess someone to step over that line though and get involved to the point where someone loses their job? Politics is totally fair game, but when it comes to a person's private life and or work life? why would anyone feel the need to get involved with that? I've always felt that politics shouldn't be personal, and yeah, maybe it's just me, but what's the line that people draw?

It's a totally dumb thing to do, I get that. I just actually feel bad for her in a way. I have no idea who this woman is, from what I've read she's older, and yeah, in this economy I feel bad for someone who loses their job especially an older person. I'm thinking beyond the story, who knows, maybe she's a lonely woman who has no 1 to vent to in real life, and while it's a dumb thing to do, maybe she just needed to vent for some reason and there was no 1 there to vent to.

Thank you for those kind words Frank... After the hilarity of that awful affair died down I thought to myself, "Wow...I don't want to create a problem for these folks at CC." You all have been very nice and welcoming, far more then I had ever experienced at DU.  And while jumping around the forums here I never got that 'ice-pick in my right temple' feeling I get when I read the DU nonsense.

Don't know if you were "actually" a DU member because you were a Democrat, maybe a blue dog, but those aholes project A LOT. They want lockstep. Here there are very differing opinions on things. The one thing that, I think, brings us together is fiscal conservatism. No, that doesn't mean being heartless bastards, quite the contrary, conservatives are the biggest contributors to charity throughout the nation. ....with their personal income. Liberals...and maybe I'm pigeonholing here, think charity means getting the government to take other's earnings and give to someone else. ....who will become Democrat. (No, don't look at that as evil. No malicious attempt in that at all.  )

Myself, I happen to be somewhat of a (l)ibertarian/conservative, though I'm not a guy that thinks all things should stand. Meth, and things like that, should NEVER be legal, but I don't see why weed is illegal. Don't do it, but just don't understand why. Many people here disagree with me, and that's fine. That's what separates this site from DU. No one walks lockstep here. It's never been required.

Funny thing, I thought I was a Democrat then I spent time on DU...      Ive been TS'd three times from that place..         On my first account I was amazed on some of what I read and tried to engage in harmless debate..   I was pizza'd and since then it just became a joke hobby to mess with them..            Actually I credit DU for letting me know I have some conservative values..
