Police: Florida Teen Killed Parents, Then Had a Party

A Florida teenager accused of killing his parents with a hammer and partying afterward with more than 40 friends has been charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bail.

Police say 17-year-old Tyler Hadley used a 22-inch framing hammer to kill his parents, Mary Jo Hadley and Blake Maurice Hadley, then covered up their bodies and drank beer with his friends.

Tyler had invited his friends to come over Saturday, police said, posting a message on Facebook around 1:30 in the afternoon.

Later that night, around 10 p.m., between 40 to 60 friends arrived at the house. Neighbors complained about noise from the party, so police sent a patrol car to the neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. but didn't notice anything unusual.

Then, hours later, they received an anonymous tip that Tyler had killed his parents.

How sickening.  :(

I'd like to know why this kid felt compelled to have all those people in his home with two dead bodies down the hall.  I am assuming the anonymous tip came from a party-goer.

I wonder if the killer told his best friend why he did it.  I wanted to know his reason, but it wasn't in the story.  What makes someone want to kill their parents?  The guy contemplated it for five minutes before killing his mom?  Too bad the dad didn't have a gun.  I would have shot that sorry SOB.  Don't care if he was my kid or not.

My thinking is if this kid could do this, would he really have a reason? The kid is evil.  He probably has been this way for years. You just don't get up one day and hammer to death your parents.

You are absolutely right, but what set him off that day?  I just don't understand how someone could kill their parent's.  I've been in huge disagreements and arguments with my parent's, but never wanted to (or thought about) killing them.

There was a line in the OP about his parents telling him he couldn't have a party at the house.  I'm putting my money on 'spoiled little princess'.
