Obama urges Republicans to follow Reagan example

Source: Agence France-Presse

President Barack Obama urged Republicans to draw inspiration from the hero of fiscal conservatives, Ronald Reagan, who had agreed to revenue increases to cut the US deficit.

"Ronald Reagan repeatedly took steps that included revenue, in order for him to accomplish some of these larger goals," Obama told CBS in an interview.

"And the question is if Ronald Reagan could compromise -- why wouldn't folks who idolize Ronald Reagan be willing to engage in those same kinds of compromises."

Reagan was a staunch Republican, who led the United States for two terms from 1981 to 1989, and was in power when Congress was controlled by the Democrats.

6. Ronald Reagan was not an 'organizer' he was elected

President of the Screen Actor's Guild, the Union of which he was a member. The powerful people that pushed him into office were his own agents at MCA, Lew Wasserman etc, who wanted changes to rules and regulations which would allow MCA-a talent agency- to purchase Universal-a producing studio. This merger was seen as and was a conflict of interest, and Ronny was put in place to sign the papers that changed the rules to let that merger happen, MCA/Universal.
Organizer or Rat ****er? I say Rat ****er.

He can do that, because he's probably much thinner by now.

Pruneface doubled the debt and all we got to show for it is a busted America.

FOAD. :foff:

Reagan hadn't generated so much as half the debt in 8 years that Barry Soetoro has in 3.  Oh, and at least Ronaldus Magnus' debt had the advantage of being largely for Constitutionally approved expenditures - defense, primarily.

And what happened when Reagan, compromised? That's right the democrats reneged on their part of the deal and kept spending anyway.
Granted we have the house and have some control over spending, but the dems showed they can't be trusted.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Why is it that whenever the Democrats are losing the battle on issues.....any issues....

They start channelling Reagan??

They start talking about how Reagan and Tip O'Neil were "best buddies", and enjoyed drinking a beer after a day at the office.......

They hated each other.......Reagan couldn't stand to be in the same room with O'Neil......he thought he was a cretin.....

Repeat a lie often enough, and it becomes the "truth".....
