Of course, here we have the phenomenon of a primitive's "friend" (or brother or sister or mother or father or wife or husband or co-worker), in which case it's usually really the primitive itself.

Need some advice

I have a friend who is being harassed at work because of disabilities. Just some details to help explain:

individual has worked at facility for 19 years

individual has had "restrictions" from a doctor for many years.

individual recently had surgery for a condition NOT connected to the disability which required the "restrictions".

Individual came back to work to find that the job description had been changed to require the holder of the position to do work that is a no-no in the restrictions.

Basically, the employer is saying that since the surgery, everything should be fixed. But the surgery did NOT fix the disabilities the "restrictions" were aimed at.

Anybody have any advice????

I don't know the law there but there are federal laws involved here, get an attorney involved immediately....

This is what I told this individual, but they are so strapped with bills that they are afraid they cannot afford an attorney. There are few resources in our area to help people with attorneys and such. But, froim my reading of ADA, they have a definite case. To make matters even more sinister......a medical facility is breaking ADA!

Anybody have any speculations about what sort of job the foot-tray primitive has in a hospital?

Laundrywoman with rheumatism, perhaps?

Translation -- misfit went into rehab for alcohol, but the drug problem is unresolved. 

How does a medical facility not understand that the surgery was not related to the disability?   Why would an employee provide to an employer anymore information aside from just having surgery -- so how on earth would an employer assume any surgery would "fix" a disability? 

All so very odd.

Again we see the DUmmies running to the hive mind for assistance when I'm sure there would be a disability atty willing to give a free consultation. If the "friend's" story is actually true, they might have a case under ADA.
