poll: apocalypse for the hippies impending?
« on: July 12, 2011, 04:09:07 PM »
About one year ago, I posted a poll, "how much longer for the Age of Aquarius?"

I had predicted two years, but never mind.

In view of today's events, does anyone sense the apocalypse looms nigh?

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,46033.0/viewResults.html

Quote
While reading all of the economic news--both domestic and international--it's apparent that the sun is setting on the primitives' lavish lifestyles as supported by the taxpayers; that the Age of Aquarius is winding down.

The Age of Aquarius began circa 1975, give or take a year either way, arising from the self-destruction of Watergate, bringing with it a whole new class of political leaders still currently in office (think: Bela Pelosi) but rapidly ageing.

It ushered in all sorts of rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul social programs, and an enormously large class utterly dependent upon the governmental teat, from inner-city minorities to get-rich-quick white Democrats.

By 1980, everything on the hippie agenda of the 1960s was either law, or at least socially tolerated.

Well, the crumbling's obvious now; an angry electorate, cutbacks in social programs.

In robbing Peter to pay Paul, both Peter and Paul were grievously impoverished.

I suspect that within two years, the whole entire political, social, and economic landscape of the country will be utterly different from what it is now.

I have no idea what it will be, but it's not going to be anything like the Age of Aquarius.

I am unsure because I think it depends on us. "The sleep of reason produces monsters." We are Reason, or at least Reason's representatives. When we nod off, DUmmies run wild. They both need us and hate us. They need us because they leach off of us. And they hate because they need us.

It will take control of the senate, and another surge of Tea Party to do it, but yes we can save this country.

Getting rid of the Rat judges is what vexes me. It needs to be done.

I chose the second option. For a time, the primitives and their politicians will change the definition of their collective hippie dream to match current realities. Then eventually, someone with enough brains (probably a conservative) will note how the modern 'hippie' has nothing in common with the original gang..

Its already happening now.. Example;

The original 'hippies' lived a life of self sufficiency. They grew their own food (and weed), made their own clothes, homes, etc. and lived in self actuated communes. They wanted absolutely nothing to do with the government and what it had to offer.

Today's hippies live on the government dole, and expect everything to be provided to them -from favoring confiscatory tax policies, to state mandated and/or denied actions & policies, to expecting a so-called 'living wage'.

That is a very good point, miskie. Most of the hippies I know today are actually businessmen who sell hippie shirts at music festivals and are very concerned with the bottom line.

The so called age of aquarius has dried up and blown away.
Why the dirty hippies put anything into the water carrier, I'll never know.
Stupid hippies still seem to think astrology has some meaning.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I think that it's coming, but it will be a while before the hippies say, "**** it!" and light themselves up like a Buddhist monk. :fuelfire:

That's what they mean when they lament, "This isn't the America I used to know." When I read that over there, I have to laugh.

Normally, it would mean rows of houses with white picket fences and unlocked doors at night and neighbors you actually spoke to. Prayers before football games and Nativity scenes at Christmas in the town square. Embarrassment over being unemployed or pregnant out of wedlock. Sunday dinner at granny's house with no one arguing politics.

But in the liberal mind America only goes back 40 years or so. No more of the America they "used to know" means no more easily-qualified-for entitlements. No more confiscatory taxes.  No more running from the ridiculous boogeyman of seniors eating catfood if taxes aren't raised. No more calling a smaller than normal budget increase a "cut". No more pipe dreams of womb-to-tomb Nanny Gubmint. That's the Good Ol' Days of the Left. The days of regression into loss of individual freedoms, packaged and sold as "Progressivism" by the moonbats.

So when you see a DUmmy write, "This isn't the America I used to know", it is a cause for rejoicing, because it means we still have a shot at real progress.

Would it be inappropriate to bring the marshmallows and hot dogs when they finally go off the deep end?

Oh wait; this is dirty, smelly, nasty DUmbshits we're talking about here.

I don't think the end of the age is that close.  I have little confidence in politicians to enact the austerity measures needed to stop the insane spending.

Excellent observation.

Today's leeches of and on society that infest the DUmp and elsewhere don't have much in common with yesteryear's hippies except dope.

I wonder how many of those original communes still exist and how they operate in today's world?

yes, but a while more yet

The stupid hippies think that rioting in the streets by the lazy, inept entitlement sect will lead to a sit down negotiation love feast. It ain't gonna happen that way.

Think Kent State.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

IF the hippies had kept the illegal immigration to a minimum they could have squeezed out another decade of the Age. Since they didn't It will end within two years. There will be wails and screaming but it is...what do the enviro-fascists call it...UNSUSTAINABLE.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Think Kent State.
I remember that incident like it was yesterday, since I was in northeast Ohio at the time.
Half the people I knew had no strong opinion.
The other half were furious that the Guard ceased fire so quickly.
Even the moonbats of the day were not especially keyed up.
It took years of a constant drumbeat from the leftist media for people to start thinking of it as something negative.

For the most part, they split - half the group are now government leeches. The other half 'grew up' and became Libertarians.

That is where the problems lies. There is only so many votes for conservatives out there and most of them are not in states where the true Liberal Socialist Democrats are getting voted in again and again. If we could vote out Pelosi and Reid and Schummer and Biden and their kind then things might finally run alot smoother. Unfortunately we can't and their agenda will still be put out in colleges and other schools until that to is stopped. I'm afraid that the hippies have done enough damage that not only will they suffer but so will we..
