Not only is OblaBla following in their Sainted FDR's footsteps by keeping the depression alive for much longer than need be but the decade of the '30s, and in particular '36 holds the record for the hottest and driest in US history long before AlGore even invented his Global Warming Scam©.

75 years later and the economy and weather are eerily

parallel. The scariest part is that nobody seems to be able to do anything about either one.
Not to mention unrest in Europe and the Middle East an we have the makings of another Global Nightmare©.

The 1936 North American heat wave was the most severe heat wave in the modern history of North America. It took place in the middle of the Great Depression of the 1930s, and caused catastrophic human suffering and an enormous economic toll.

Summer (June–August) 1936 Temperature, in degrees Fahrenheit. Record warmest and coldest is based on a 112 yr period of records, 1895-2006

A heat wave is building and could reach dangerous levels in parts of the Midwest, the Plains and the Southeast this week. Twenty-three states were under heat advisories, according to the National Weather Service.

1. For me, the scariest part is that ...
... Obama is too much Hoover and not enough FDR. But wait, it gets even scarier. If Obama is Hoover, when he loses in 2012, then we get FDR, right? Wrong. We get something EVEN WORSE!

If history repeats, then it's going to get a whole lot worse, for years to come, before it gets any better.

Still clicking my heels together hoping Obama is gonna morph into Truman. I'll even don a wig, dress, and ruby slippers, if I have to, to make it happen.

Being a DUmmy and all, that's probably your regular daily routine anyway.

Jeeze.  Truman?  I mean, I may live in Missouri and admire the guy's independent spririt, but honestly, he was the archetype of "Arbitrary and capricious," and though to some extent set up by legacy policies from FDR, his Presidency was anything but a highwater mark for the office.

Plus quite a few DUmmies hate Truman because he dropped the bombs on the Japanese.  War crimes & all.
