Basically, We are Nuts
As a country of over 300 million, we allow a mere 535 votes to determine what course this country follows.
And what's even crazier is that one person gets to decide foreign policy.

13. On paper, we're a Democratic Republic w representative govt. In fact, we're highly UN-representative
The ratio of people to representatives here is one the worst (highest, and therefore unrepresentative) in the democratic world, if not the highest.
That's not even getting into the tiny elite veto cesspit of privilege known as the US Senate.
A dollar says none of these sooper geniuses at DUmmyland know why each state has the same number of representation in the senate.
When they were trying to figure out how everything was going to work out for our govt, there was concern that smaller states would be over ruled by bigger states, so as part of the comprise, the senate was set up so that each state would have an equal say in the senate. The house was set up so that each state would be represented by how many people were in each state. This way in one house the states with more people had more representation and in the senate each state had equal. In theory this was supposed to balance it out and try to make it fair as possible.
Tomorrow's lesson for the DUmmies is how the senators were chosen long ago vs how they are chosen now.
