 Advertisements [?]Relax, take your finger off the trigger. Look on the bright side, and turn the other cheek. All of your paranoia about being overcome by some big thug are your own fears. And you hunters, a question: Does the cost of the gun, the ammo, the time off work, the gas, the tent, etc, etc, Really save you money on your meat bill?? I doubt it. Some of my co-construction workers hunt the deer season, take a week off of work, and spend a lot for some stankey deer meat, if they are successful, (not counting what they spend more to have it dressed)
So what is it? The thrill of the kill? I have never owned a gun. I live near the border, where there are a lot of illegals, yet I have no fear. I have nothing worth stealing (except a guitar), so what is it except fear that makes a person pack a gun? And as far as hunting, guys, check your real expenses and tell me it's not cheaper to buy rib-eye steaks and stay home.

6. I'm not sure what the OP's point was supposed to be...
 but I own guns 'cause I like them. Shooting is targets is fun, shooting game can feed me, and if the need ever arose (and it probably won't), shooting a homicidal intruder would have a better chance at saving my ass than waiting around for the cops. They're beautifully engineered (most of them) machines with multiple uses.

 I see hunting as basically unneeded because it's so much cheaper to buy food or meat, even organic meat.

You know I was just telling my husband that very same thing. After our pistol killed those three roosters...it was all rather amazing really, damn thing got up Sunday morning, grabbed those roosters one at a time and shot them in the back of the head. Didn't bother to clean or gut them...just murdered them. Well, I told my husband he better get that pistol and take it's bullets away and hide them. Next thing you know that pistol would load itself and come after us in the middle of the night. If it starts talking to the shotgun I don't know WHAT I'm going to do! Well at least the roosters are organic.
