I think I'm going to stay out of the DU war that has just begun.

The battle lines are drawn, even before any details are known, and casualties are mounting. Yup. I'm going to join threads that aren't slugfests for a few days.

After a few days, when some real information is available about what President Obama has in mind, I'll get back into those discussions. For now, the flames of battle are just too high for me.

I don't see where there's any alternative; the Big Zero's going to have to cave.

Where do these fools think the money is going to come from to pay out benefits to those coming up from the next generation? When SS was enacted most people didn't live long enough to collect it, with life expectancy increasing and the fact that 50 million potential tax payers have been killed via abortion, something has to give. So what if the retirement age has to be raised or people have to contribute more. And I'd like to see an investigation into how many people are receiving SSI and SSDI fraudulently and that includes the parents of kids who are diagnosed with things like ADD and Autism. I have no doubt lots of lying is going on in reference to those illnesses.

Yes, of course, and you and I are still waiting to be liberated of the burden of supporting the cross-eyed Iowa primitive, the subway cat, the Las Vegas leviathan, the Odin primitive, and a whole slew of other primitives.

There's not that many primitives, but it'd at least be a start in cutting the fat out, so that the truly-qualified can get something.
