Bill Adding Gay History to Curriculum Goes to Calif. Governor
By The Associated Press

Sacramento, Calif.

California lawmakers on Tuesday sent the governor a bill that would make the state the first requiring public schools to include the contributions of gays and lesbians in social studies curriculum.

The bill, passed on a party-line vote, adds lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as well as people with disabilities to the list of groups that schools must include in the lessons. It also would prohibit material that reflects adversely on gays.

Prepare to lay up all that you hold dear on the altar of the terrible new god, Tolerance.

This sorting of people into ever more discrete "groups" based on every intimate aspect of their individual humanity, done in ovine obedience to "Self-Esteem," "Multiculturalism," and "Diversity," will destroy the pluralism that holds this society together. Nor will phony textbook honorifics halt bullying; rather will they increase it. People get irritated at being righteously lectured about their normal and natural prejudices.

Look, von Steuben's contribution had nothing to do with his sexual preferences, whatever they were (and who cares?). It had everything to do with his genius for military organization and training, not to mention his devotion to Washington and a new-found patriotism. Why not teach *that* in our schools? Turing's personal tastes (and who cares?) had no part of his genius. Why not teach young people the importance of mathematics and other kinds of knowledge to the defense of one's country and resistance to tyranny? Are we going to teach Heracles not as a great mythological hero representing the fullness of human experience but as a hero of cross-dressing bisexuality only?

But I suspect these legislative sexual Jacobins mean to convey a very specific message: homosexuality is just plain cooler: why, look at all these homosexual geniuses! If I were a Golden State citizen with children, I would either move out of state or pull my kids out of public schools, right pronto. California, where's the outrage?

Steel on target.

Just when I thought it would be impossible for Califunny to become more loony than it is, bang, there it is.

Back when people learned to read, write, do simple math, diagram sentences, and quote theorems and corollaries in geometry proofs, anyone who mentioned people who commit crimes against nature would have been expelled.

Now schools are queer-friendly, and their graduates are semi-literate fools. I'm not sure there's a direct correlation, but it seems pretty likely.

Pretty sure the decline accelerated during the 60's-70's and continues today.

Just this week our Gov. Quinn signed a bill that eliminates English grammar and composition from the requirements for graduation. The kids will not be tested on it.

If they're not teaching English grammar and composition, what are they teaching?  Or are schools in Chicago just an excuse to collect a salary and pension?

Next up: Christian contributions.

Right?

Wait. What?

*That* would be improper?

But they've given us science, mathematics, medicine, engineering, hospitals, education. Why can't they be singled out and elevated for their contributions?

The "Crusades"? But those were defensive wars; launched after historically Christian lands from Northern Africa and the Middle East were conquered and Eastern Europe was being invaded.

The "Inquisition exalted one group over all others"? You mean kind of like how gays are being exalted over scientists and healers who happen to be Christian?

"Pogroms?" If the ills brought on by people who were Christian disqualify them from being exalted in school shouldn't the misdeeds of homosexuals like J. Edgar Hoover or Jeffrey Dahlmer count against gays?

"The Constitution"? You mean to tell me the founders fought to have gay appreciation curricula elevated over Christians?

What do you mean my kids aren't welcome at public schools?

...
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

It ain't just her.  I did the same thing five years ago and haven't regretted a minute of it.

not sure why she came to mind

Rosie "the Riveter"

California has become the first state in the nation to require public schools to add lessons about gay history to social studies classes, after Gov. Jerry Brown (D) signed the landmark bill on Thursday.

Quote
Democratic state Sen. Mark Leno of San Francisco, the bill's author, has said that teaching gay history in public schools will teach students to be more accepting of gays and lesbians

FOX

will it include the history of HIV, strap on dildo's and which orifice to use ???  just wondering how far are they prepared to go here. is this another form of liberal child abuse???

So, how many states are going to start having LGBTQIOMGWTFBBQ history in their textbooks due to publisher's writing books for the largest market?

What history exactly? REALLY what is this so called "gay history?" They came over on the Mayflower?  They found gold in the 1880's? WHAT IS THIS HISTORY?

Or will this history be how they got this by hook and crook? Not by the popular vote?  That the majority of this country is against this dumbing down of America?
