I just got back from the grocery store in town, where I had stocked up on some chow for tonight, as it's likely to be a wild night on Skins's island, and we all want to watch the primitives run amok, either happily or unhappily.
When I was driving back, I got to thinking: how "black" is Barry "Goldwater" Obama anyway?
Of course, we all know Barry "Goldwater" Obama is half African-derived, half European derived.
And what about his African-derived part?
Of course, we all know Barry "Goldwater" Obama's father was of the Kenyan elite during the time Kenya was part of British East Africa, and when that country got its independence, part of the ruling caste.
In case anyone is not aware of history, authentic blacks in America today are usually--not always, but usually--of west African derivation, where the continent juts out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Blacks of western Africa are significantly different from blacks of eastern Africa.
Blacks from any part of Africa tend to look down upon Americans of African derivation, because of the slavery thing. Because they were never slaves, at least in this country, they assume they're more virtuous than those who were.
Which of course is humbug, but that's the way they think.
When I was a supervisor at a basketball equipment manufactory, which employed many differing minority groups, I noticed this sorely and acutely. The Americans of African derivation tended to be welders, skilled work, while blacks from Africa tended to do unskilled work.
The blacks from Africa had something against Americans of African derivation; those guys from Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda got along better with Americans of Vietnamese derivation, for example, than they did with those of a skin color similar with their own.
One suspects Barry "Goldwater" Obama subconsciously or consciously-but-secretly possesses the same contempt for Americans of black derivation as his father had; after all, none of us can escape the prejudices of our forebears.
I think that's what it boils down to; Barry "Goldwater" Obama is "black" simply because he's black in skin color.
At least to the primitives.
This, despite that the growing-up and adult experiences of Barry "Goldwater" Obama have been nothing as life experienced by Americans of African derivation; affluent upper-middle-class upbringing, Harvard University, all that.
Far different from being an authentic black in America.
When I think "black man in politics in America," the first person who comes to mind is John Lewis, a Democrat congressman from Georgia. His politics of course suck, but his blackness is undeniable, and his experiences as an American of African derivation are a matter of record. This guy knows what it's like being black, growing up black, in America.
Or Floyd Flake or Melvin Watts or even Charles Rangel.
To me, Barry "Goldwater" Obama running as the "black" candidate of the Democrat party is as ludicrous as if I ran as the "deaf" candidate for some office. Unlike Barry "Goldwater" Obama, I am in fact 100% deaf, not a half-breed of some sort.
But my own experiences growing up deaf in America, because I had certain substantial advantages, have been wholly and entirely and completely and utterly different from the experiences of other deaf growing up in America. franksolich is in no way "representative" of the deaf, other than just himself.
Or, I could stretch it a little further, and like the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive with his faint tinge of "native American"hood, because one of my great-grandmothers was of Hebraic derivation, I could run as the Jewish candidate for some office.
But such would be dishonest; while I'm very appreciative and grateful for that part of me that is Jewish, being Jewish and growing up Jewish has never been in my experience.
I think this deal about Barry "Goldwater" Obama being representative of Americans of African derivation is just so much shit, utter excresence.
I assume Barry "Goldwater" Obama has such a hold on white liberals because he's a "safe" black; he's not one of these guys from the ghettos of Boston or New York City or Chicago or Lost Angeles. They want a black candidate, but one not offensive to their sensitivities.....in other words, they want a guy whose skin just happens to be black, but who's all white on the inside.
