What are your plans for this big 4th weekend?
« on: June 30, 2011, 08:29:28 PM »
I plan to see Green Lantern. Go to a fine restaurant. Meet the gang and hit a casino and watch fireworks in the casino parking lot.

The only chore I have to do is the wash, but I got everything else done, so all I have to do this weekend is...play!

OK, so what are your plans?

Work on my car.  I'm getting a check engine light and a code 7-1 (EGR).

Also, the hood strut seems to be missing.  I'll have to find a spare.

Figure out the the battery draining issue in my secondary car, so I can sell it.  Have a bbq on Saturday to go to, but the rest of the weekend will be dedicated to getting stuff done.

I am boring.

Mrs E and I have a wedding to go to tomorrow.

She's traveling this afternoon to the funeral of one of the kids killed in that car wreck this past Sunday.

Church on Sunday.

No specific plans on Monday, but I'll be practicing and exercising every day this weekend.

We have been prepping all week for our patriotic shows at Disneyland that begin tonight.  Our big mother of all shows is on Monday.

A 40th birthday party.  A get-together with some high school friends.  Party on Sunday night at a friends house, and another one Monday for fireworks.  Plus golf mixed in Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  So pretty much non-stop action for me.

We don't have any plans for that weekend.  Fireworks display's been cancelled (DUH) even at Veteran's Memorial Park.  I may make my oven bbq spareribs, even though on the 5th hubby has his fasting blood work scheduled at the VA. :-)

I saw big slabs of spareribs at the commissary the other day and got to  over them.  It's one of my son's favorite dishes as well as one of mine.  Just can't make it often due to the high calorie and fat content. :(

Attend TEA PARTY Saturday at high noon. Pick up son on return from Boy Scout camp around 2 pm and then a little garden work. Church Sunday morning and I guess they'll let me know what my plans are after that.

I'm on a need to know bases...they'll let me know what I'm doing when I need to know it which is usual "right now".

I saw clip this morning that Regis and Kellie were going to have a chef on making Asian ribs. Wonder if the recipe is online? He said they weren't real sweet. Last recipe I used had oranges and orange juice in it. They were really good - I added some Thai chili paste cause I didn't have the Sriracha the recipe called for - but the orange addition made them a bit too sweet.

Camping, kayaking, grilling and an illegal amatuer fireworks display. Oh, did I forget to mention the drinking?

"Toots" and the rest of my family are out campin' on the lake. I get to stay here and babysit my animals.

They even requested I make them my world famous cinnamon rolls so the guys could eat early in the morn in order to hit the lake for fishin' at 5 AM! Assholes!

I guess they think Papa has nuttin' better to do than cook for 'em! If it weren't for my grandkids, I'd tell "Toots" to pound sand, but then again, I might want to get laid when she gets back, so I guess I'll bake 'em some rolls. lol!

Other than tending the garden(s), my brother is having a potluck gathering on Sunday, and we're going to my wife's great-aunt & uncle's on Monday.  The gathering on Monday is the one I'm looking forward to.  I love their "camp," which is actually a nice waterfront house.

Daughter is coming down from behind the cheddar curtain for the day. Some drinking (for the others), grilling, eating, relaxation.

We'll discuss the events during my wife's and their visit to Buffalo.  :whatever:

Some of you guys' weekends sound real fun!  Iassaftots, you're going to have to try harder.

My husband is going up north for a golf tournament and staying the night, so I'm looking forward to doing exactly what I want.  Sun myself like a lizard for the first and only time this summer, with a book and a cold drink.

Sometimes I miss my last apartment.  I lived east of downtown and could see three or four fireworks shows sitting on the second-floor balcony.  You could see the one the riverfront, the football stadium, and whatever else was happening (I think there's one at the baseball statium too).

Now, it's too crowded to leave your house to go anywhere.

I'm going to be basically at home and anchored to my laptop.

I'm on-call this weekend.

Cook out, watch a big fireworks' display, maybe shoot some firearms, wakeboard at the lake one day and drink rum.

We plan on going out to Lake Las Vegas.  There will be all sorts of family friendly events going on all afternoon.  The fireworks start at 9pm.  Their celebration takes place on July 3rd.  As far as the 4th, we will probably sit on the patio and watch fireworks from the surrounding neighborhoods.

I get to change out my antenna coax in my truck sometime this weekend in the 100°+ heat. Then, start packing things up, getting ready to move next weekend.

My oldest daughter is coming down with her 2 boys and 2 dogs to add to my already jam packed house now that daughter #2 has moved back in with baby and friend.  I'm going to have to start standing people in closets to sleep...   :lmao:  I seriously think I'll set a tent in the back yard and see if the boys, at least, want to sleep outside.

We'll spend some time lighting fireworks in the street - far enough from any dry grass to cause no problems.  Then, hopefully, the show on the 4th will go on as planned (it hasn't every year), and we'll go watch that.  Between times, some cookouts and definitely letting the kids all spend hours running through the park and probably swimming somewhere.  By Tuesday, I'll be remembering all over again that I am definitely too old to raise children.   :rotf: :rotf:

4th of July is probably one of my fave holidays. It is one holiday, we all celebrate as a united country. Thanksgiving we do too,but tends to be more solemn(thinking of all the money we will be spending).....Just alot more activities going on on July4th, fireworks, beaches, camping etc....so on that note Happy 4th of July everyone!!!
