You really should get out more, coach.  Fish tacos are actually pretty common down on the costal regions, particularly Baja.

And if you do get to Southern California, I highly suggest a trip to Rubio's or Wahoo's.  Fish tacos, each done in a slightly different style (Rubio's is fried, Wahoo's more grilled) but both are excellent.

Yeah, I get the same reaction from people in New England..."Fish TACOS???  EWWWWW!!!!" yet they don't think twice about mixing lobster meat with mayonaise and stuffing it on a roll.

I love Wahoo's, not enough to stay in this stupid state though.

Doesn't algore recommend acupuncture for that?

Cindie

He prolly does! Only problem is, for me, he'd prolly recommend 16 penny nails for the needles! I know that's what I would wish for him. Especially if it was about the head and shoulders!

Are any of these places near Pendleton? I'm going down there in August. My son is taking me to WWE Summer Slam for my birthday. Of course he's using his airline miles to fly me down and the WWE gives free tickets to all live events to military members but still I haven't been to a live event for a decade or so and I'll take any opportunity to see my baby boy!

Unfortunately my favorite spots are down in San Diego, but I know for a fact that there are several Rubios and Wahoos up in the Oceanside/Carlsbad & San Marcos area and they are pretty good.  Sounds like you guys have a lot of fun planned, I hope you enjoy yourselves!

AL, where the hell have you been?  I was beginning to get worried about you.

Good to see you again!   :cheersmate:
Now that you mention it, you're right.

Been Ranchin' and Farmin' Bubba.

This year has been a ****in' nightmare due to "glowball warmin'"! My ground water is within 3 feet of the surface! It's been a ****ed! Wettest year I can remember, and that was before they decided my cow's farts were warmin' the planet!

That, and everyone and their brother wants me to take their horse off their hands because they can't afford to feed 'em anymore! I've got a total of 18 now! Tends to keep a country boy busy!

Sounds like the guy that lives down the road from me.  He's picked up 12 horses in the past year, and probably 20 since "teh Zero" was elected.

He's made 2-3 trips/year into Amish country with trailer loads of horses and goats to sell, and comes back with a load of pigs, which go to a local packing plant.

Now see, there you go starting a dilema with me.  I hated So Cal, but loved San Diego, and it's actually much more conservative than LA.

Then you get into the places worth going around Point Loma and the Subase...

Casa de Loma
Santana's-Send the nub out on a run for the duty section.  Carne asada burritos.  Oh. My. GOD.
Adelberto's, Aiberto's, any-freakin-berto's.  100's of them, all good if you don't ask too many questions.  Few things better than rolled tacos with cheese and guac at 3 am.
Miguel's.  Best cerviche EVAR!

You get the idea.

I never worried about the tomato falling out of my taco. They always fall apart after 2 or 3 bites anyway. Maybe someone can invent edible duct tape to hold them together.

I have never understood why anyone would eat a crumbly taco, if anything else is available.
In fact, worldwide, most tacos are eaten by people who have no other choice.

I'm not crazy about taco shells, they are boring. We use flour tortillas with all the stuffing, so I guess we're eating burritos instead..  :-) and we aren't complaining about our tomatoes falling out of the taco shells either...  :lmao:
