Turtles, Gay Folks and Me
« on: June 29, 2011, 08:03:27 PM »
I had an interesting day today and I know the title has likely put many ideas in your head.

We have a lot of turtles in the province and they're always ending up in the road so when I see one I always stop and move it aside, no big deal.

Today I passed some of the slowest drivers EVER, and thus successfully navigating past several lawns when I see a turtle in the road. At this point I stop and go back only to find out the people I passed had stopped too. This is where things get interesting...

They had gotten out of their car and didn't know what to do however, I imagine they where going to call DNR to remove it. I put the turtle in the trunk so I could drive it back to the lake, because they insisted it be taken far away from the road. I said it would be fine if I simply moved it off the road but they left no room for debate.

And how's this for a plot twist...they were lesbians. I thought this might be the case thanks to the flag on the back of the car but it was confirmed after a few minutes of talking.

What an odd series of events. In the end the turtle was safe and they were happy. Just thought this was worth posting  :p

What a odd scene it was. Amusing though:)

Must have been a big turtle to stop traffic.

Still don't see what turtles and queers have to do with each other.  The lesbians don't bother the turtles and the turtles don't go looking for teh secks.  Oh well. :-) :)

My dad and I found a soft shelled river turtle on the highway once.  It was almost 18" across and had been hit by a car, but only one leg was injured.  We hauled it about a mile down the road to small river and turned it loose.

So, two two legged cooters couldn't figure out what to do with a four legged cooter. Wonder what their response would have been if you had told them, "I'm gonna eat dat cooter""  :-)

DNR = what?  Dept. of Natural Resources?

These girls didn't know what to do, and so they were going to call a government agency?   :mental:

We once had a skunk on the property acting strangely, so we suspected rabies.  We thought some sort of government authority ought to be informed.  We called office after office and were told "we don't do anything about that."   A swift bullet to the head solved the problem.

It didn't occur to these girls to pick up the turtle and do what you did?  It was nice of you, anyway.

The turtles are heading for the spawning grounds so if the lake you put it in ain't that the turtle will be back in the road in no time. Its best to see what way it's heading and just get it across the road in that direction cause its on a mission.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Heard a report of an airplane that had to abort its landing and try again because a turtle was on the runway.  Really?
