I can't believe I share a country with these people.

The people (and the press) that stare doe-eyed and rapt in attention to the words of Michelle Bachmann, Chris Christie, Scott Walker, and others.

People that actually buy in to Birtherism, Tentherism, Deatherism.

The principled difference of opinion has changed into intellectual hegemony.

As Hicks said in the movie "Aliens", "How do I get out of this chicken-shit outfit?"

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1374618

I agree I can't believe I have to share this wonderful country with lefties who want nothing more than to destroy everything this country was built on. In the past we had people who said, "Give me liberty, or give me death", now way too many people just say, "Give me".

It baffles my mind that we went from having people who defied all odds and managed to survive in harsh conditions to a country full of people who don't want to be bothered with having to do a damn thing in order to be clothed and fed. Can you imagine the pioneers sitting in front of a computer screen with hand held wide open begging for govt to fill it?

1. I can't believe I share a species with them. nt

I can't believe it either. The concept that we need govt to meet our every need is alien to me.

6. According to the Firth study, we have a larger anterior cingulate cortex

than conservatives.

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/intersection/2011/06/... /

One of the functions of the anterior cingulate cortex is to monitor uncertainty and conflicts. Thus, it is conceivable that individuals with a larger ACC have a higher capacity to tolerate uncertainty and conflicts, allowing them to accept more liberal views.

From where I sit conservatives are more prepared to deal with uncertainty and conflicts than any liberal. We don't need the govt to hold our hands through life. Libs need the govt to tell them how much salt to use for Pete's sake.

Borrow our way to prosperity. Or.. you have to spend money so you don't go bankrupt.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Dummies forgot to leave this part out ...how convenient  :mental:
However, it should be noted that every brain region, including those identified here, invariably participates in multiple psychological processes. It is therefore not possible to unambiguously infer from involvement of a particular brain area that a particular psychological process must be involved.
Although liberals did indeed show larger ERN waves than conservatives when making mistakes, so do individuals with clinical diagnoses such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (Gehring et al., 2000) or major depressive disorder (Chiu & Deldin, 2007). So we can't dismiss the possibility that the liberals might have been more depressed or obsessive compulsive than the conservatives.
Idiots to say the least to post such shyte on the DU, don't they research anything?

Perhaps if they were more self-confident and convinced of their superiority they wouldn't feel the constant need to do this kind of thread daily. Poor things! Going through life that unsure of themselves must be depressing.

Ah, the old "I am mentally and morally superior and here is a study to prove it" meme. They want to be special so badly it is painful to watch. That is something insecure people do. That insecurity is also what leads people to accept whole hog every thing the left puts out. Being a lefty is easy because it is a fake kind of nice and caring. You don't every really have to mean it you just have to say you do and let the government do all the work.

"Are you a nice person and very intelligent?"

"Yes?"

"Well if that were true, then you MUST believe that medical care is a HUMAN RIGHT , right?"

"It is? Well, ok"

"You hate racist right?"

"Of course!"

"Then you must agree America is racist and is out to destroy the poor people in the middle east because they have dark skin, right?"

"Well, ok. Every one will think well of me now right?"

"You bet."

And on it goes. Most people out grow this by puberty. Probably why they are so into the "wisdom" of children. They are stunned children them selves.

It would depend in large part on how you define "liberal". Today's liberals are as far removed from Classical Liberalism, which is defined as "committed to the ideal of limited government, liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets", as Richard Dawkins is from Christianity. They could be more properly defined as statists, consumed with fear of living truly free and independent lives and depending on intrusive government for their well-being.

What mental disease is it when leftists always blame the failure of their policies on normal civilized people?

I call it liberalism or regressivism but I'm sure there some clinical name for it.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
