You don't have to show a proof of purchase to claim $15 in a class action lawsuit against Kellogg. Just be someone who bought Kellog's Rice Krispies or Cocoa Krispies between June 1, 2009 and March, 1 2010.

The lawsuit contends that the cereal maker falsely advertised that the two cereals supported your immune system even though it didn't have adequate data to back the claim.

There will be a few "honest" DUmpmonkeys that won't go for it.
There will be even more, deriding their "honesty".
There will be others that will recruit friends to submit the paper, then ask for ten bucks finder fee. :rotf:

It was a nuisance lawsuit. Apparently the Oregon moonbat attorney general demanded Kellogg stop advertising "antioxidants" in Rice Krispies. Even though the cereal actually did have "antioxidants" (which I guess are chemicals that moonbats put a lot of faith in for something or other), Kellogg agreed to change the ads. But a team of reptilian trial lawyers sued anyway, and got a moonbat judge to certify a class action. Both sides knew it was a stupid, frivolous lawsuit. Kellogg agreed to pay $2.5 million to make them go away. The plaintiff's lawyers haven't presented their billing yet, but their fees will come out of the $2.5 million, and only whatever is left over will go to the deadbeats who send in claims for the $5 a box payment. Most likely, the lawyers will walk away with $2.5 million for nothing, and the deadbeat customers won't see a dime. They got nearly $3 million from Kellogg a year ago out of a similar nuisance suit against ads for Frosted Mini-Wheats.

This is the kind of gravy train the Silky Pony is hoping to hop back on, if he can save his law license.

This is one reason I was glad the USSC struck down the class action suit against Walmart.  I think most class action suit should be banned. The only winners are the lawyers.

We just finished a box of Rice Krispy treats the other day.  Still not interested in getting my "free money".  Guess it's because I'm not piss poor morally.

not sure what to do about this one, kids eats rice krispies all the time so no doubt we qualify, mayby put in the claim and give the money to bachmanns campaign or one of the local churches, but once again its a good example of why these cases are a rip off.

Well, if GOBUCKS is correct on the background, the $2.5M is already sunk from Kellogg's point of view, so it's either you or the scum-sucking class action attorneys that get it.  Better you than them.

good point but realistically you know the lawyers are going to make sure they get paid first, would be awesome if the claimants got paid first and the lawyers just got what was left, would be real funny to see them getting about 15 bucks out of it.
