NRC chief tours Cooper plant (Fort Calhoun tomorrow)

On Sunday, the Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission began a two day tour of Nebraska's flood-threatened nuclear reactors.

He will tour Fort Calhoun on Monday but on Sunday he got a close-up look at safety measures in place at Cooper Nuclear Station.

He said he will know more about the situation at Fort Calhoun on Monday after touring the plant.

"I would say that (the Aqua Dam) was more of an additional enhancement they had added to the site to make it easier to deal with flooding levels, but it was not a specifically safety-related piece of equipment. Ultimately there are other systems and structures in the plant that can insure that it can continue operating safely with the rising flood waters."

DUmmy Obama Steve is weeping

Thank God, nutcase nadin is back from Mexico in time to steer the DUmp through this latest nuclear crisis.
She needed a funeral break after the rigors of taking care of the DUmbasses while Japan melted into oblivion. She taught them about canned milk, demonstrated her own personal meltdown, gave parrot instructions, and warned about the coming epidemic of seppuku among TEPCO executives.

She did all that with hardly a breather after guiding the DUmp through the Wisconsin debacle, which dealt a staggering blow to the DUmp belief that hand-lettered signs, chanting, vulgar behavior, and marking on fine marble with magic markers are the key factors in American politics.

1. Here we go again...WATCH WHAT THEY DO, NOT WHAT THEY SAY
oohhh boooyyyyy

Take care Steve
Don't worry, nutcase, Obama Steve will be in tears, but otherwise fine. He'll be no where near the nuclear plants. It would take years of training to develop his skill to the Homer Simpson level.

3. For the record the NRC is present at these plants at all times
so a low level Technical group would not alarm me. The head of the NRC, on the other hand... best case scenario somebody has pointed out that as the waters recede dry casks might float away.... yes they are heavy... flood waters are that strong. That is the best case... they might be worried about losing control of the nuclear material... and that is a very valid concern.
It's the dry casks, people! The dry casks! The flood waters...they're so strong! Oh, no! They're losing control! Save us, nadin, save us! Aaarrrgghh!
At least we can depend on compassion from her parrots.
