This woman, Emily Goods, who was arrested for video taping the police is no stranger to handcuffs. She and her boyfriend Ryan Acuff are long time street level rabble rousing activists who frequently harass the police, usually while the police are engaged in serving evictions.
Acuff has launched an activist organization to support squatters who have been evicted from their homes for being delinquent in their mortgage payments yet have moved right back into their former homes after the bank has had them sealed once vacated by eviction. They only seem to be interested in supporting black squatters though.
Goods and Acuff were both arrested together here in Rochester just this past March for such an offense. A local black woman who had been evicted broke into her former home and moved right back in. She lived there for several more months for free before again being forcibly evicted from the same house.
This time the police were there to carry out the eviction. The local T.V. News cameras were there to report on the spectacle and interview the "victim". Acuff's protest crew was there to offer much noise and dissent to the police.
They got cuffed & stuffed, again. Apparently not their first rodeo.
They don't seem to protest in any predominantly white neighborhoods or anywhere out in the 'burbs. Pretty much just down in the 'hood.
I would wager that had the suspect being arrested in the street in front of Good's house been a white man she and Acuff would not have bothered with making a scene.
