Van Jones building left-wing Tea Party, says the country ‘isn’t broke’

By Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller
06/24/11

Former Obama administration green jobs czar Van Jones is trying to build a liberal “Tea Party” movement by denying the federal budget crisis.

The left-wing champion launched his liberal Tea Party movement, which he’s dubbed the “Rebuild the Dream” movement, at a Thursday night event in New York City. (Time magazine cover features shredded U.S. Constitution, asks if it still matters)

“We are being lied to,” Jones said. “We are not broke. We’re the richest country in the history of the world.”

The “Rebuild the Dream” website once echoed the same meme. “MoveOn Civic Action & The Other 98% teamed up to keep the message going: We Are Being Lied To,” read the movement’s mission statement on rebuildthedream.com. “The country isn’t broke and the last thing we should be doing is gutting workers’ rights and cutting vital services American families depend on.”

The website took that paragraph down sometime between June 13 and now. On June 13, The Daily Caller asked Jones to provide examples and statistics to prove the country “isn’t broke.” Jones never responded.

I have a feeling what he means to say is "so long as there is still someone out there keeping their head above water with a few bucks in their account we should be allowed to take it to keep the bloated federal government going even tho it really doesn't help anyone but a few chosen people".

I am sorry but this clown is a vain con man with more hair on his head then brains in it. I have met his type before. He really doesn't give a damn about what he talks about, he is just after power.

The tea party is a natural uprising of the American people against the excess of their own govt. The left has attacked the Tea Party incessantly. If there was a leader of the movement, that person's character would have been assassinated long ago. The left's attacks have proven to be truly impotent against the Tea Party.

Now we have an Air America moment. The left want's their own -controlled- Tea Party. It will be utterly dependent on talking points, and will be seen as un-spontaneous and artificial. Air America assumed there was a market for their tripe, and they failed. Same end will be in store for this group.
--Personally I think Van Jones will need to PAY his protestors, otherwise why stand outside all day?

Watch for professionally made signs handed out to professional protesters bussed in from out of state. That will be Jones' group.

--Also watch for the media to cover this group extensively and ignore the Tea Party.

"Left Wing Tea Party" is an oxymoron from hell.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

We will all barf when the Main steam media gushes over the Van Jones construct.

They will make claims that the Tea Party is dead. Its dwarfed by the new group. And spike all stories or pictures of the real tea party.

I wonder how this group will react if we walk thru their midst with racist signs? Will they be as peaceful at the Tea Party people?
Will the anarchists show up and start smashing windows?
Will the professional protesters start throwing things like petrol bombs and feces?
---this IS a lefty operation after all. Why should we expect anything different from any other leftist protest?

and we ought to start a pool...just how long till they start violence? we are seriously going to need video surveillance because you know the media won't report it.

  • Creepy ass cracker.
Even if they do start up their own version of the Tea Party, they still will have to bus people in and bribe them to show up. Contrast that with normal every day Americans sick of the shit going on, and gathering to let the govt know what they think. At least the Tea Party people know why they are mad, Van Jones followers will just be joining in an angry mob because it's cool.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

So Van Jones is taking his statements from poor YouTube fakes?  Sad.  Just utterly sad.

He didn't take the statement from the video.  He's a part of the entire movement that produced the video.
