3. I haven't thrifted in ages...

I promised myself that first I'd try to get some of my stuff organized (lol).

A few weeks back, hubby went up to a sports card shop and got some archival plastic bags for magazines. They turned out to be too small for his needs. But I've got an old stash of Little Lulu comics, most I bought back in the 1960s. Backstory - The uncle of a friend had a tiny comic shop in Brooklyn. We paid him a visit after school one day and I got most of my current stash from that shop. The other day I got busy and cataloged the issues in a Word document and am putting them into the magazine holders and labeling them on the outside. I see LL's go up for sale on ebay and always hold back so I don't duplicate. Now I'm organized and can look for fill ins.

I promised myself that the only time I'd hit the thrift shop is if I get that "must go" feeling because I always find something special. And that burning finger hasn't touched the back of my neck lately. So far, so good!

2. Oh, boy! The only problem I see with these shows is that they are creating a crush of shoppers at yard sales. I've never seen anything like it.

The vindictive primitive's upset because she can't pawn off some Dollar General item as Wedgewood china or Waterford crystal.

4. No wonder I keep getting calls from our local thrifts asking for donations

They must not be getting as much from people who hold tag sales and then donate what doesn't sell. Maybe there isn't much left these days like there used to be.

5. Watching it now. I'm enjoying this

Reminds me of when we had flea markets here and we used to before sunup to get first crack at fresh meat.

eBay has pretty much killed the fleas around here.

8. oh yeah, they were repeated later 8-10 west coast, and after that is an auction show that I'm watching now.

I liked the flea market show. I like the way he teaches viewers about technique specific to flea marketing. I wanna be out there.

That sounds enormously boring.  Every flea market/farmers market I've ever been to is the same phony-folksy crap and used junk over and over being sold by sketchy people I wouldn't talk to if I met them on the street.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

the secret to selling stuff at a flea market and making a lot of money, is to buy factory seconds, fakes or damaged goods, then you have to give the illusion that you are dodgy and the goods fell of the back of a lorry.  Most people will pay more for something they believe is stolen than for seconds or fakes, though some will pass you by its about playing the odds.

Years ago, a neighbor had a garage sale, and one of her items was a box with a litter of mongrel puppies. The sign said "free puppies", and at the end of the day she had unloaded one out of seven pups. On the second day, she changed the sign to "Puppies - $5", and sold all but one.
