So Heddi is dropped from the Mod Squad for being honest. Her whistle-blowing broke a confidence agreement, so this is understandable.

But How about those rogue mods she wrote about in her post?

Are they are still out there bending the rules and acting on their own?

Is the whistle-blower the only one who gets demoted?

2. Thanks for the quick response

But I'm still curious as to whether any other changes in mod status will be forthcoming , as a result of Heddi's whistle blowing.

3. You mean will we be firing any other moderators?

We have no plans to do that at this time.

However, as we have been saying for a long time now, DU3 is on the way and will be bringing with it some extremely significant changes to the way the board is moderated. We love our moderators, but I think that we can all agree at this point that the system of moderation we are forcing them to use is just not working for where DU is now, in 2011. One of the reasons we're finding this latest episode so frustrating is that believe it or not most of the issues with moderation that everyone has been fighting over lately will be moot on DU3, which is why we're trying to focus all our attention on getting that finished at the moment.

DU3 has been under development longer than most Windows operating systems before they are launched.  Any bets that DU3 will be more buggy than any version of Windows?

DU3? The place has had the same crappy look since January 20, 2001. Where does the upgrade go? DEFCON mode?

They posted a preview a few months ago... it's more like moving the furniture around than an actual "upgrade".

My question to you, sir.

Why don't they just have this SMF thing, like we do?

As far as I know, looking at it from the surface, it's easy to maintain and it updates itself.

Why does the elusive enigmatic Elad even have to be on the payroll, devising Rube Goldberg contraptions?

Frank I think the appeal is that the source code for the board they use is available for them to tinker with and modify. It makes them feel in control of the asylum so to speak. :-)

It'll be the Windows ME of board software.

I don't know if SMF could handle the 50 bazillion members of DU.  :lmao:
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

The half-witted but enigmatic Elad serves no purpose. The few times he has been left in control of the DUmp, watching gauges, tweaking dials, maintaining safe pressure, he has nearly demolished the place. The first time, he authorized the Andy scam. From the elusive Elad's perspective, the less said about that, the better. That put him on DUmp probation for several years. Then just recently, he was left in control over a weekend, and the Great Nadin Meltdown occurred. The man is as useless as a cartoon boy who can draw nothing but blank speech bubbles. If he's in charge of DU3 development, it will be a disaster.

Okay, the DUmmies want us to understand that the planet is in peril but they have time for this mod/gay soap opera?
