Question about tombstoning
A post attacking another member was alerted on, the thread shows the offending post was deleted ( message removed) and clicking on the poster's profile IN that message shows the usual "he disrupted poorly" tombstone page.
But...the poster's user profile indicates he/she is still "present".
Are there TWO uses of tombstone messages?
I always thought tombstoning removed the member from everything, including user profile page.
I can pm link if needed.
Enlightenment needed, pls.
My fellow alum Skins must be on a well-deserved vacation, as Lord Marblehead's been handling all the questions lately, it seems.

1. I think I figured out the problem here
If you click the profile on a deleted message, you are not viewing the profile of the person who posted that deleted message -- you are viewing the profile of the member "Name removed" which is a deactivated account. I know this is not very intuitive but it was the easiest way to set up the system when we created this functionality.
That would explain why you saw a tombstone graphic on one profile but not on another. The person who posted the deleted message was not banned.
