Alone, with dogs
« on: June 23, 2011, 02:31:06 PM »
Well, the better 3/4 of my life shuffled off to Buffalo this morning, so I'm batching it until next Wednesday. She's driving and should be at the hotel before 5:30 CDT, or so. She'll visit her brother and his wife, and his kids, go out with friends from her grade school days, etc.

She'll also go to a cookout at her niece's on Sunday (which COULD erupt into a nuclear explosion). Relatives going to the cookout have been warned: She will not tolerate any shit from them. She is loaded for bear. You do not want to get my wife pissed at you. Her nieces are looking forward to this; they know my wife very well! (Wish I could be a fly on the wall at that cookout!  :naughty:  )

Our daughter and her BF flew there this morning, and they'll be on their own, except for the Sunday Nite/Afternoon Fights! Her brother and sister-in-law are going, too. The SIL is kinda goofy, would give you the shirt off her back, but is a few bricks shy of a full load, and my wife is ready for her too!  :lmao:

Meanwhile, I'll be content with our dogs....  :)

It sounds like it's a helluva lot less complicated with the dogs, CG!

Enjoy yourself! And scratch 'em behind their ears for me!  :lmao:

Maybe nothing, but probably, or at least possibly, a big blowup about what her niece did for her mom and aunt, and lies about what her brother did not do. THAT will light a very short fuse, and you would not want to witness the results.

Aren't families wunnerful?  :rotf:

I'd actually like to go to on that trip! Legion halls to visit, friends to visit, etc. But then there'd be 2 people with 1 vehicle. She deserves her time away.

The dogs: Emmy's gonna be 14 and doesn't demand too much except to be left alone. The 9-year old puppy, Cody, the chocolate lab, demands everything and can be a real pain in the ass.

That's why God gave us friends.  :-)

My sis and I had a "discussion" when we went to St Louis last week. It seems she didn't want us to stay in her mini McMansion and withdrew her invitation. I was really angry, because she can stay as long as she wants if she and her hubby visit in Florida. As much as I love St Louis, I think being a couple miles inland from Siesta Beach, voted the best beach in the US, trumps the burbs of St Louis. Oh, well.

Enjoy your quiet time with the pups.
