Michele Bachmann on the Rise With No End in Sight
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:09:09 PM »
The nation’s recent economic recession has sent the stock market in unpredictable directions, making it difficult to know if an individual stock will rise or fall on any given day.

But right now, Michele Bachmann’s stock is heading north with no end in sight.

The Minnesota Congresswoman has become a darling of Tea Party activists and serves as the chair of the Tea Party’s congressional caucus. It also doesn’t hurt she is originally from Iowa. The only thing lacking is her ability to claim she spent summers in New Hampshire and divided her winter months between South Carolina and Florida.

As Renee Zellweger told Tom Cruise in the hit movie, “Jerry Maguire,” “You had me at hello.”

Such appeared to be the case when Michele Bachmann took the stage on Saturday toward days end at the RightOnline conference in Minneapolis.

Not to mention she looks hotter than a chicken pot pie

Obama couldn't shine her shoes..  Her background in government, business, scholar, family et al....just confirms his lack of substance.

I know she's at least as much of a "threat" as Palin if the reaction of the media is any indication....

which is a good thing.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

I feel for her, they're armed and ready...every forum, every corner of the net...just check it out, this is only the beginning. They fear her just like Palin.

She had a townhall meeting in Rock Hill, S.C. last night and no I didn't get to be there...death in the family.

Bachmanns Hubby rakes in Medicaid
While Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., has forcefully denounced the Medicaid program for swelling the "welfare rolls," the mental health clinic run by her husband has been collecting annual Medicaid payments totaling over $137,000 for the treatment of patients since 2005, according to new figures obtained by NBC News.

The previously unreported payments are on top of the $24,000 in federal and state funds that Bachmann & Associates, the clinic founded by Marcus Bachmann, a clinical therapist, received in recent years under a state grant to train its employees, state records show. The figures were provided to NBC News in response to a Freedom of Information request.

The clinic, based in Lake Elmo, Minn., describes itself on its website as offering "quality Christian counseling" for a large number of mental health problems ranging from "anger management" to addictions and eating disorders.
{snip}
Questions about the Bachmann family's receipt of government funds arose this week after a Los Angeles Times story reported that a family farm in which Michelle Bachmann is a partner had received nearly $260,000 in federal farm subsidies.

Posting PMSNBC lies now, you idiot? Bachmann was specifically asked by Wallace about the $30K in State/Federal Funds and she answered the question on that point:

But what YOUR article claimed was "when asked by anchor Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday" about the story's assertion that her husband's counseling clinic had also gotten federal and state funds". That never happened, that was NOT  the question she was asked. Yet another lie of yours, but what do you expect coming from the world's oldest troll whose last brilliant idea was to vote for Obaaaaaaaaaaaaahma. ::)

You are a very insulting person.

MY article? I didn't write it, but she doesn't think artists need to be paid either evidently.

Following in the steps of David Byrne v. Charlie Crist and other legendary artist versus candidate smack downs, Tom Petty is reportedly preparing to take legal action against Michele Bachmann's campaign, after she played his 1977 hit "American Girl" at her 2012 announcement rally in Iowa Monday.

Who cares what her husband is doing?  It is his clinic, not hers.

And another thing.  While she has denounced Medicaid, has she ever specifically criticized mental health treatment that is being funded by said program?  I highly doubt it.

$137,000 in six years or so?  Whoop-dee-freaking-do. :whatever:

Do you really fail to see the hypocrisy here? Practically every candidate has this kind of double-talk double-standard in their rhetoric. It never fails to make me laugh, regardless of the political party involved.

Again, she NEVER said that, but if her husband had refused Medicaid patients, then you'd call her "heartless". Double-standards, yeah, YOURS.

As for the Tom Petty song, Ralph, she ought to just stop using it.

Hey, I remember you.  Weren't you banned from MW after throwing a fit and posting gay porn all over the place?

Now why don't you put me on ignore? You're never going to get him re-elected again no matter what you do. Go, Bachmann!

That brings a question to my mind...I have no one on "ignore"... is there something wrong with me?

I have no one on ignore either, and no one is ignoring me.  Unless they just choose not to read what I post.  I don't know why anyone would take the internets so seriously that they'd put someone on ignore.  Maybe if it was a stalker of some kind, I guess.

But you don't want a Republican president, now do you? Destroy anyone in Obaaaaaaahma's way is a lame campaign strategy, but then . . .  :-)

I've made it pretty clear that I'm not a big fan of Bachmann for a variety of reasons I won't go into here, however, if her husband treats needy people with no health care but Medicaid/care more power to him. Many doctors, regardless of specialty refuse to. I have a 92 year old grandmother and not only does Medicare suck but finding a GOOD doctor willing to see her is ridiculously difficult. The government copay's less than any other insurance in the country so doctors treat these patients at a loss. Every single year I have to review nana's medicare and check to see if there's a better option (there never is) and dealing with this is the biggest cluster **** this country ever invented. Nana is sharp as a tack but the whole system is very confusing for elderly people. Heck, it's confusing for me and I've been dealing with it for years.

Nor does believing something is flawed and wanting to eliminate it mean that patients who need it should be turned away. We all work with the system we have while we're working to change it. And perhaps her opinion comes from having to deal with it in her husband's business.
