WHAT DO YOU THINK: A Texas senator is in hot water for interrupting a Spanish speaker who has been here for 23 years and telling him he should 'be speaking in English' during a committee hearing. Was the senator right when he asked his guest to speak English?

Im guessin that Aguirre speaks english just fine, but spoke spanish for show.

My sister called this morning and mentioned this.  She's tickled pink she and her hubby got to leave IL for Texas a few months ago. :-)

I voted "Yes" -- that the senator was correct in asking the guy to speak English. That's absolute bullshit to come into a government session of any type and have to hear some guy's "first language" because the sonofabitch has been too damned lazy to learn enough English to read a simple statement.

The Committee Chair you see in the video is lib democrat (Sen Kirk Watson).

The guy didnt speak english because he didnt want to speak english. He was being rude. Hes from Mexico. Spanish is obviously his first language. Hes just another typical lib who doesnt give a shit about our culture and consequently our language.

I am very proud of that Texas senator for speaking truth to power.

The idiot could speak English but refused to do so. It WAS insulting. And it was designed to make him look more like a victim. People like this need to be called out more often.

Lots of people were outraged, and are on the side of "Speak English, or go back to Mexico!"
