Why do so few straight people vote Democratic?
 The vast majority of gay people vote Democratic all the time. While there are some idiots like Log Cabin Republicans and the even more absurd GOProud, 70% or more of GLBTQ voters can be counted on to reliably vote Democratic, including, of course, support for all Democratic presidential candidates including Obama.

So what's wrong with straight people? I hope that you don't mind my asking this question. I'm really curious and I'd like to learn more. Can straight DUers help me understand? What's the problem? In recent presidential elections the voters have split close to 50/50. If we subtract out the ~10% of the population that is gay, we see that fewer than half of straight voters vote Democratic.

Now I don't know about you, but I find this appalling. What is wrong with straight people?! (No offense.) I'm just trying to understand. Why would fewer than half of straight people in the U.S. not see how important it is to support Democratic candidates? i don't have any problem seeing how important it is to support Democratic candidates. But then, I'm gay. Apparently we gay voters get it. Why can't straight people see this?

If you are straight, what are you doing to get your community to vote Democratic?

Maybe in San Francisco... I think the oft quoted statistic is that 2-10% of the population is LGBTQ, etc.  Homosexuals of course assume that the higher end is more accurate, when really 2% is probably a generous estimate.

I read somewhere it was 4-5%. There are probably another 4-5% of DUmies that lie in order to promote their liberal agenda.

 Subtract out the 90% of blacks which make up 12% of the population, then subtract out the high % of Hispanics that vote Dem, and you are left with an overwhelming majority of people that would vote conservative.

They need to quote a bogus high number to give the impression they're an important voting bloc. They're not.

Perverts are a tiny minority of the population, but they're concentrated in the arts, where they're highly visible. I think that helps give a hugely inflated impression of their numbers.

In the case of the 2 Texas duded that went to the Supreme Court, scientific evidence was entered stating that 1.9% to 3.8% of males were homosexual and 0.9% to 1.8% of females were lesbians....and you know scientific evidence and a consensus of scientist is absolute proof to a DUmmie that those numbers are most assuredly accurate beyond a shadow of a doubt.

That's what they teach in schools now or as they like to put it "1 in 10". (I guess kids today can't do percentages  :p )

Those seem like more realistic estimates. I've been told the 10% thing but always figured it was lower.

Agreed - I live in gay-friendly Massachusetts, and out of the hundreds of people I know, gay folks number less than a dozen. And out of that dozen or so, none of them are moonbats. Some middle of the road Democrats, Two men and one woman I know are Libertarians, and one bisexual woman I know is a Reagan Republican.
