LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Anthony Weiner is checking into a treatment center, says reports. Representative Anthony D. Weiner’s treatment, said to be a rehab like facility to battle issues that have plagued him in recent months, could begin today, claims reports. Two senior Democratic officials tell local news that Weiner is “headed to check himself into a treatment center†promptly.
The location of the treatment center has not been determined, nor confirmed to news by Weiner’s office. The news comes hours after a series of additional Congressional leaders demanded Weiner’s resignation, joining the nearly half dozen already asking for the same last week.
Representative Steve J. Israel, Democrat of New York, and House Democratic leader, Nancy Pelosi, both issued news statements today calling for Weiner’s resignation. Israel said that Weiner must seek treatment promptly. Israel told news that Weiner must attend to his family and his voters by getting “the help he needs.â€
