The BIG differences between Canadians and Americans

#1
We don't give a shit about sexual scandals, unless some law has been broken. We just don't care. Harper could be caught in a five-way with Breitbart, Kissinger and the Koch brothers. We wouldn't care. Our press doesn't cover it because they KNOW we don't care.

#2
We don't do revenge killings. Or even approve of revenge killings without even the chance of a fair, impartial trial (remember those? Americans practically wrote the book. Nuremberg, hello?)

#3
We don't give a hoot about a political candidate's religion. It's considered bad taste to mention a candidate's PERSONAL, SPIRITUAL views.
And any spiritual leader who opines about our politics is swiftly given the public boot.

#4
Guns DO NOT guarantee one freedom from violence. So we limit guns and ESPECIALLY handguns, which are DESIGNED to kill people fast and with a minimum of wait time.

#5
We DON'T worship our military as if our whole existence depended on them. The western world has NOT, I repeat NOT, been threatened with existential destruction since WWII. Viet Nam, Grenada, Beirut, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan never had a chance to end life as we know it. Yes, I know, we're in Afghanistan, too. I just don't attribute my freedom to any soldier there "fighting for my way of life"

Just to let you know.

What a putz.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I'll be happy to meet him at one of our military bases. Val Cartier is closest.

Or I can meet him at a Tim Horton's so he can feel safer. We can have a coffee and a muffin.

I think the Canadian primitive's stereotyping.

Isn't that a no-no among Democrats, liberals, and primitives?

All the time, they insist they don't stereotype.

Canada is guilty of many things.

Hogging up all the good coffee (Tim Horton's).
Celine Dion
Anne Murray
Anne Murray's haircut, still required by law for all Canadian women under the age of 30.
Giving the Anglican Church a foothold in North America.
Shitty whiskey.
Allowing people to walk around being Irish all day (Boston is also guilty of this).
Screwing up football (those 10 extra yards are a blasphemy in the eyes of Ditka).
Letting French people marry, which is unbiblical and destroys the sanctity of marriage.
The CBC.

and...

The "rock" band Rush.

It's high time we sent the Atlantic fleet up North to show these beer-swilling, sweater vest-wearing mooses (meece?) who the boss is on this continent.
What can we do to help you stop screaming?

The Canadian press, aside from being miniscule, does not enjoy near the degree of freedom guaranteed by our Constitution. Nor do Canadian citizens.

I had a friend in Quebec who bought a fabulous home on something around 20 or 30 acres about an hour outside Montreal. It included nice pond, maybe five or ten acres of water, but he told me he could hardly use it because he wasn't allowed to clear a path to the shore through the brush. The environut government arbitrarily declared huge swaths of private property as green spaces where the owners were no longer allowed to alter the vegetation in any way.

Canadians just accept that kind of authoritarian nonsense. They're like a big bunch of frostbitten Californians.

I still say the only good things we get from Canada are walleye filets and the Trailer Park Boys.

My rebuttal, view the Canadians voting with their feet to the USA right up until Obumba took control and the conservatives in Canada took control. It's the socialism stupid.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Guns DO NOT guarantee one freedom from violence.

You're right, DUmbass, they do not guarantee on freedom from violence.  What they do guarantee is that our property will not be taken and our families will not be slaughtered without a fight.  And, stupid, they will make a shitbag criminal think twice before risking his own worthless life to do someone harm.

Considering the troopers stand the line between you and real religious intolerance and barbarism, you should be a little more grateful.

Doc, if you're going to use a bad Canadian band, back away from Rush.  There are oh-so-many others to choose from, like

Triumph
ANYTHING Neil Young has ever been in
Loverboy
Aldo Nova
Men Without Hats
Crash Test Dummies
Barenaked Ladies
Nickelback

To say nothing of the horrific solo artists.  Next person that calls Avril Lavigne "punk" gets throat-punched.

I doubt this guy is Canadian as he claims.

He is likely either from Quebec in which case he is really a Frenchman (1/3 hominid, 2/3 jellyfish) or he is a draft dodging American who burned his draft card and ran away, still too scared to return even after Carter's amnesty.
If that is the case he is just as spineless.

I fully understand that they don't worship their military as if their whole existence depended upon them, they have our military to do that for them.

I wouldn't say Canadians are bad people on the whole, that would be ignorant. Growing up on the border though, I spent a lot of time on their side of the river. Canada is a beautiful country. Going there one notices the lack of litter on their roadsides, this is because they jettison all of it from their car windows on the American side before returning home from a day of shopping or seeking medical treatment in our physician's offices and hospitals.

No, they're not bad folks. The average Canuck is a pretty decent chap but I have noticed one quirk they all seem to share, funny shoes. Ever notice that? It's like they're all wearing bowling shoes. Strange. One would think that with all the time they spend over here milling about in our malls that they could pick up some normal footwear. What's up with that?

I do like their bacon though, I'll give them that. They sure know their way around a pig so I have no clue why they insist on beer & doughnuts for breakfast. Strange.
Right now I'm having a wholesome American breakfast, Folger's and a Marlboro.

Anyway, growing up around so many of them I've learned they''re pretty much harmless. Kinda like that one odd cousin you might see from time to time at family picnics & such. You know the one, 28 years old with an associate's degree but still living in mom & dad's basement and has a $3,500 bicycle but no car and no shortage of worldly opinions. Smells kinda funny and means well but Harmless.

I think you have a pretty firm grasp on Canadiana. I also like that stuff where they pour fresh maple syrup into a bucket of snow.
But their beer sucks. I used flat Molson's (it sat overnight, after one awful sip) to water some houseplants. They died.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
