When Sarah Palin talked about how Paul Revere "warned the British" outside the Paul Revere home in Boston, the media firestorm was instantaneous and widespread. When it turned out Palin was correct about the actual history, the irony could be cut with a knife.

While within hours the meme that Palin did not know what she was talking about when discussing Revere, the correction to that meme, buttressed from a quote from a letter Revere wrote in 1798 first published in Legal Insurrection, has been slower to spread. Revere, in his own account, was captured by the British and did, as Palin related, warn them the gig was up and the colonial militia had been raised against them.

Even better, a President that gets history right...and shows the idiocy of the MSM while doing so.

The kerfuffle was a great illustration of Mark Twain's observation that a lie can travel halfway around the world in the time it takes the truth to put on its galoshes. The suspicion arises that perhaps Palin did this deliberately, as a way to tweak the media, and show them up as fools and poltroons. She has been so adroit at doing this before, by causing them to chase her on the bus tour, that the possibility cannot be dismissed.

Nah, Obama isn't smarter than the media.  Why do you think he has to haul his teleprompter everywhere?  The DUmp was so obsessed about the possibility someone was prompting Bush...yet Obama is right in the open about his inability to think at all.

I have to wonder if Sarah isn't "punking" the MSM and the left sometimes.  She seems to say something that sounds wrong and the left jump on her for being stupid, but it turns out she was right. 

This isn't the first time that this happened. Remember when she told a TEA Party rally "Don't party like it's 1773"?

Look what I found:

Revere was captured and questioned by the British soldiers at gunpoint. He told them of the army's movement from Boston, and that British army troops would be in some danger if they approached Lexington, because of the large number of hostile militia gathered there. He and other captives taken by the patrol were still escorted east toward Lexington, until about a half mile from Lexington they heard a gunshot. The British major demanded Revere explain the gunfire, and Revere replied it was a signal to "alarm the country". As the group drew closer to Lexington, the town bell began to clang rapidly, to which one of the captives proclaimed to the British soldiers "The bell's a'ringing! The town's alarmed, and you're all dead men!" The British soldiers gathered and decided not to press further towards Lexington, to instead free the prisoners and to head back to warn their commanders
