He's not rich, he's "insufficiently taxed"
« on: June 01, 2011, 05:59:17 PM »

Hannah would be proud of DUmmie HughDumbshit.

Never mind that someone was smarter, worked harder, was a better business man.  He has more than I do because he wasn't taxed enough.

Tax them all and give it to ME!

This is what the insufficiently taxed get to do in life . . . .   Updated at 6:45 PM

http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/billionaire-larry-ell...

The latest twist in our tale of Mother Nature and the distress she causes among mere mortals: Curbed SF intel says Oracle CEO Larry Ellison will buy the home of late socialite/fashionista/philanthropist Dodie Rosekrans at 2840 Broadway in San Francisco - immediately next door to his - for $40 million.

The Rosekrans' extravagant Willis Polk-designed house, built in 1916, has twenty-two rooms and lacks a garage, but it does have unobstructable views of the bay. And the billionaire's multi-year battle with his downhill neighbors/millionaires Jane and Bernard von Bothmer may be finally coming to a close.

Apparently settled with lawyers beavering away over the holiday weekend, the case is a log-book of Dickensian wrangling over an eighty-year-old acacia and some overly-enthusiastic redwoods and just how many feet of wood would get trimmed from their tops. Meanwhile, there's been an attempt to landmark the acacia, plus during a recent deposition, Jane von Bothmer produced photos of Ellison's employees illicitly strapped into her trees, ready to trim.

This past week, Ellison defended himself in the Wall Street Journal via his tree lawyer, and back in 2007, the von Bothmers turned down two offers from Ellison to buy their property, the first for $15,000,000 and the second for an even more substantial sum. Having paid $6,900,000 for their house in 2004, renovating it and the garden extensively, the barnacle-like von Bothmers refused to be scraped away, but they have now agreed to maintain the redwoods at a height within two feet of the elevation of the yachtsman's second floor.

Yes, you read that right. His precious view was not to his liking, so he dropped some (to him) of his pocket change to fix that.

Yeah he should be taxed to death so the DUmmies can buy more weed and cheetos.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Once again, I have to point out that America is the only nation in human history where the poorest citizens, the most unproductive losers, can be identified by their obesity.

Why don't you think about blaming the socialists/communists in the democratic party. In other words, the democratic party. How do you think this whole economic mess came about and who is to blame? Bwaney Fwank is one of the biggest douche bag losers that started the ball rolling down the hill of economic disaster. Ever think of that primitive? Or does the truth hurt so good?

I'm waiting for the Buick to come to a stop.
Ought to be interesting.
No sign of Bobo yet.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Yeah, I don't know why democrats talk about the Republicans as the "party of the rich."  All the richest dudes donate the most to the democrat party.

Ever heard of your local food bank DUmbshite? The poorest of the poor in this country live like kings compared to the rest of the truly poor on this planet.

6. He's an ass, but what's wrong with 13 homes?

A friend of mine patented the cell-phone camera and now owns 70 homes.

Nothing wrong with that. He just doesn't like to stay in hotels all the time.

4. I am familiar with this issue.

The von Bothmers are asses. Those trees were to be limited to the height they were when Ellison bought his house.

A friend of mine lives in the same block and everyone respects one another's view and privacy.

Except the asswipe von Bothmers.

I think it is a simple case of Broadway envy. The houses on Vallejo St - while nice, indeed - aren't nearly so nice as those on B'way.

Ellison may be a prick most of the time, but not in this case.

In San Francisco, one's view is worth fighting for. Some of the battles are stuff of local legend.

They should all move to my town and just cool out for a while.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
