Next time I'm in Quantico for Jummah, I'll be sure to tell all the Marines, Sailors, etc. in attendance what you think!  O-)

OK, then back to the original point.  I was married to a secular-as-you-can-get Muslim.  Broke all the rules, yet still called himself a "Muslim."  Nothing dangerous about the guy.  Any cabinet position, regardless of someone's race, religion, color, what have you, must be thoroughly vetted to get the best and brightest.  And have America's best interests at the core of their being.

Past associations HAVE to matter.  Look what we got with Obama's free pass.  The biggest bunch of moonbats and closet commies in history.  Never again.

Now, I think the whole thing with Cain was a hypothetical question.  There's nobody he has in mind.  Probably would never happen.

THE ORIGINAL POINT WAS: Is Cain a fraud? Then you don't think Cain is a fraud?

I shoulda made this a poll.

Bravo Karin, and H5; I have a moonbat in-law who converted to Islam.  He's pretty damned secular, he really doesn't do anything different as a Moslem than he did as a nominal Christian and then agnostic, except observe a different day of rest and different holidays.  The fact that he should never be entrusted with any kind of policy or decision power in any part of the government of this country has nothing whatsoever to do with his religion, and everything to do with his nutbar Leftist politics.

President George Bush, who labelled Islam as a peaceful religion, has not a clue. The so-called democracy movements in the Middle East are nothing of that. They are a calling to Muslims to unite against their common foe, Israel. Bringing them together. All against Israel. As in the past,
they will fail, and Israel will prevail.

Herman Cain? He still must define himself. Politician or a man of truth.

You can be both. Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Allen West, (for all his nuttiness) Ron Paul, Gov. Brewer, etc. are honest politicians.

And I thought I had it bad with an in-law who merely is one of those deluded, easily led libs. Way back he said, "I support Obama. Obama is my man".  :whatever:

He won't comment now and told me to be quiet when I made a few remarks that were too close to the truth. So I guess I'm better off with a nice, but deluded, in-law vs a total nutbar Leftist. All things are relative, literally.  :-)

Mine won't even give in on that---that they're ALL crooks. The last time I saw him he said "I don't want to talk about it anymore." He got all upset. He's a super quiet guy who flunked out on assertiveness training twice that his employer mandated. I must have really ticked him off. I have to confess that I upset him that much as I've never, ever seen him stand up for himself.

It's a shame because he's actually a very smart guy. It's amazing how kids absorb the beliefs of the parents. His dad was always a lib, but have to confess my dad was always a conservative so shouldn't be throwing stones in my glass house.

My dad was a union linotype operator his entire working days. He hated Regan. My mother never talked politics and never let on to who she voted for. I think she pulled the Republician hammer every time she got into the voting booth. I did the same.

My wife and I just saw Cain on with Glenn Beck.  She's in on Cain.  Cain did have one gaffe, though . . . he addressed Beck as "Neil (Cavuto)" once.  They both had a good laugh over that one.

Cavuto has been one of the few that has been paying attention to Cain and has had him on several times.

The leftwing MSM is going to have a field day over some of his quotes because they're into gotcha politics and soundbites. Namely that he wouldn't appoint a Shar'ia-supporting Muslim to his cabinet. I'm ALL on board with that. Those idiots will say he's talking about all Muslims.

My husband just received his shipment of Herman Cain 2012 bumper stickers and he put it on his truck right next to his "STOP GLOBAL WHINING" bumper sticker.

We listened to him speak last year at the Redstate.com gathering in Austin and he is impressive.  I waited in line to meet him and I gave him a hug.    :whistling:

We seem to be lumping all Muslims together as some lump all Christians together.

I have only met ONE Middle Eastern Muslim and the man was a fanatic and scared the crap out of me. Matter of fact in the few months  he worked with me he scared the Hell out of the Indonesians and the American Black Muslims.

Just as all Catholics try to remain Catholic but some have abortions, eat meat on Friday etc. Baptists do drink and smoke, and some Quakers will own guns and know how to use them for home protection.

Big differences in the world of Muslim, I find it unfair to and inaccurate to place them all in one basket,
My generation remembers all so well the propaganda against JFK a Catholic running for president.

The moans an groans of those that actually believed that if he were elected the Pope would tell him how to run the country.

I find Cain afraid as to cave under the anti-Muslim mantra,  to take a page out of American History that the saying" The only good Indian is a dead Indian" to now the hysteria that " The only good Muslim is a dead Muslim" is from those that have no knowledge of the whys and where fores of those they perport to be enemy's.

Cain is stepping up into the shoes of others before him and giving empty promisses to anyone that wants a leader to think on their level, be it ignorant or run by greed.

So far I have not seen a shit load of ponies wandering the streets of the big city's, fortunately Obama reneged on that promiss as there would be starving and homeless ponies all over town.

Why does this remind me of a Campaign promiss to put a chicken in every pot ?????

I'll tell ya what...  When I start seeing these so called peaceful Muslims publicly and loudly denouncing the actions of their "fanatic" brethren, then perhaps I will view them differently as a group.

Until such a time, I will view them all as suspect.

What would such a display look like? Would it be like every major Muslim organization denouncing fanatacism? Would it be press conferences, statements, or tv appearances? What about working with law enforcement, joining the FBI, or serving in the military? Maybe we just need your advice, because we have done all those things and yet 10 years later people still claim it isn't happening. Maybe people just don't know how to use Google?

I tell you what it would look like.  It would look like "moderate" muslims walking out of a mosque where "jihad" or other forceful conversion of us "infidels" was being preached, and making a right turn and a beeline for the local police station to file reports and demand arrests for the crap going on there.

I'm a mormon.  In the '80s, we had a mission out in Honolulu where some of the male missionaries were pimping out the female missionaries.  The church came down on that whole mission like a ton of bricks.  All 200 or so missionaries were excommunicated from the church: some for participating; and the rest, for knowing it was going on and doing or saying nothing to stop it.  That done, the actual actors in the whole debacle were escorted down to Honolulu PD, where they were surrendered to the authorities, and charged with their crimes.

That's the kind of response I'd love to see from the "moderate" muslim community, Salaam.  Not tolerance of the "radicals".  Not sheltering them and their activities.  Not sweeping their carnage done in Allah's name under the rug.  If Islam truly is a "religion of peace", then set the standard in your community, and then expel those who refuse to live by it, reporting their activities to the proper authorities.

OK then. So since we all know or should know by now that the overwhelming majority of terror arrests come from tips from Muslims, then we shouldn't continue with arguments that have no basis in reality. As it was already testified before congress, Muslim Americans do work with law enforcement and the FBI. Every recent arrest whether times square, VA, Pakistani 5, etc were all due to Muslims calling law enforcement. In most major mosques today sermons are recorded and most streamed on the web. At least in NYC, DC, and Atlanta. The information and statistics are readily available some just prefer to pretend its not there.
