I never had anyone stress to me the importance of oil in a car.  Until I started dating my boyfriend many several years ago.  He did my oil changes for me.  He told me he wasn't ever going to replace my engine because I didn't check my oil. 

I check my oil now.  Heck, I don't even need a funnel to pour it in!   :-)
