I don't know how to say this nicely. I don't like it that I'm right about this. But I want you people to get this straight:

This is a little of the prison code... it does not matter that he has been indicted or not, tried or not... he was charged with a sexual offense. Around the world, or at least in Mexico, the US, and I presume France... you do place prisoners accused of a sexual crime in protective custody, solitary... name your poison. This is the reason why....


They are called shanks, they are crude, they are home made[sic]... and as much as guards look for them... they are endemic in prisons. At times, when it comes to fellow prisoners charged with sexual crimes... people take justice in their own hands... they have family, and this bastard... it does not matter if this is Kahn or the ganger down the street... committed a crime that crosses even their loose moral standards. This goes tripple[sic] for those charged with child abuse.

It is a form of torture? It can be. But in this case they are really between that reality of accidents happening... and mental health.

I know this is not going to go well. I hope the justice system moves fast, and IF he is found guilty, given the nature of the crime... he can pretty much look for that kind of protective custody, unfortunately. If he is found not guilty. well I suspect he might sue the prison... or just move on with his life. But this has nothing to do with his status... and for god sakes he has not YET been indicted. His alleged victim (using the legal terms here), testified today before the Grand Jury. They are on a clock as to when they need to turn in an indictment or release him.

But, but.... what about his rights? They are at this point actually trying to keep his right to breathing going. I suspect, if he was put in the general population, that he might have an accident otherwise.

I've only heard about the child rapists thing, not the others.  Manning is a traitor, and not many military prisoners are there for that offense.

Separating him from the population has a whole lot more to do with the fact he is an old rich guy than anything else.  Nadin's knowledge of prison life is clearly head and shoulders above those who turned off whatever Discovery Channel show she watched on it after the first ten minutes, instead of watching for a solid 30 or 40 minutes like she did.

That must be it. She'd know a lot more if she watched "Oz", but that's HBO, and she's told us her husband isn't a good enough provider for them to have nice things like HBO.

I'd always hear that sex crimes involving children and nuns were dealt with harshly by some inmates, but other than that I think the more heinous the crime, the more cred you have. I'm sure there are more than a few ex-cons on Skin's Island can set the wise one straight.
