Lakeysha Beard was speaking loudly on her mobile phone for 16 hours on the journey between Oakland, California, and Portland, Oregon.

It seems passengers complained to train staff about Beard's chattering, but time and time again the 39-year-old chose to ignore requests for her to be quiet.

Beard is then said to have been involved with a 'verbal altercation', resulting in workers for train operator Amtrack calling police to come and remove her.

The train was called to a halt at a crossing just outside Salem, Oregon, where cops boarded to remove the talkative traveller. She has now been charged with disorderly conduct.

No kidding.  A 16 hour phone call necessitates a restraining order.

Unlimited minutes.  Not necessarily a good idea after all.


But snark aside, I have seen quite a few instances of people using a phone as a passive-agressive tool to attack those physically present by bad-mouthing them to the person on the other end of the phone conversation...whether there is really anyone on the other end or not.

Problem is, cell phone conversations are supposed to be restricted on that particular part of the train.  I've been on the shuttle bus between Dover and Logan where they WILL ask you to leave if you don't adhere to their no-cell phone policy.
