I took some photos today...
« on: May 12, 2011, 08:50:49 PM »
I was looking for a part for something today when I found my old camera. I'd never actually used it but got it for a good price in I think 96. I thought I'd get into photography but never did and it sat around for the last decade and then some.

In the bag there were several rolls of unused film that said to process before March 1996. I didn't think I had much to lose so I put one in the camera and bought some batteries.

It's an old Minolta x370 so it's an ok camera. This is the first roll I've ever shot in it or an SLR type camera for that matter.

I had to travel to a place with an old shut down military base today (almost abandoned) and thought I'd try it there.

This was the result...Did I do bad for a first try?

Nice pics, especially with old film.  I always wanted to take good pictures too.  Never did take a class, still take mediocre pictures.
R.I.P. LC and Crockspot.  Miss you guys.

I think Full Auto is a pretty accomplished photographer. Whether he does it professionally or not, I don't know, but I think he's pretty knowledgeable in the art and science.

I used to be a photography buff, too. I;d crawl around the woods and take closeups of flowers, plants, etc., and I also really liked landscapes and taking pics of old and abandoned buildings.

I once took pictures at a wedding, and the couple used my photos more than those of the photographer they had hired.
