Check out Maine, Mother called me to ask if I had seen an article in the paper that some---idiot posted saying it was the old folks that was placing hard times on the youth.
No Shit, the elderly that paid sky high taxes were not paying enough to support the poor folks that refused to work or care for their children that had problems due to the parents taking drugs before, after and during pregnancy. Parents that went to jail were worried about how their family could get along with only wellfare while they were in the lock up.
It is the senior citizens that do not pay enough taxes that are destroying poor family's.
Complaint no. 1---In 1941 the state of Maine gave a big tax break to the family's that served in that war. About $50.00 a year, now as time has gone on the tax break for anyone surviving and living on the original land is around $3,000 a year.----taxes on the property are now about $9000- a year . Gosh how does a widow at 85 who lives on # SS and a small pension pay for $6.000 a year--------Perhaps this is savings, living with no extras.
No vacations for her/him, no new car, no cable TV.
It is all the fault of the seniors that will not just die and allow the blood heirs to take over wealth, their sacrifices that mean nothing to them.
What a mess, these youth that buy homes they cannot afford and loose them are now bitching about the 90 year old woman/ man who lives next door, sacrificed to sent her/his kids to school, lost family members in a long ago war is still getting tax breaks that was due to her/him due to service to our country.
Another thought, the kids today do not have the GI Bill, our parents and grandparents came home after serving out country to a guaranteed education. No cost to them, they had paid it for their time blood sweat and tears.
One has to look back to family that started up their own businesses due to the GI Bill, so the kids grew up with parents that had had to face Hell to come home and did not want their own kids or grandkids to ever see what they had seen to them.
This thinking led to 2 generations of spoiled children who were protected from the reality of life.----------------3 RD. generation comes along and now wants all the goodies their ancestors worked for, with no work on their own.
They have raided grandmothers for their bank accounts, and then come in and put Grandma in a nursing home, take over their property and yell bloody murder when the tax exemption will not go to them.
Who can say if this is the fault of the government or the people who love unwisely.
Scam going about in Sparkys neck of the woods, elderly are cold called and told their grand child is in Jail and needs money to bail them out. Enter a hysterical call and a so called police officer telling the victim of all the nasty things that can happen to them, the grandparents react, and only after sending money orders realise that the so called grandchild did not call them by family name, as in Me'me' or even give their name .
I will leave all my goods to the SPCA --- worked my whole life and I will be dammed if some great-grand child will get one penny of it.
