Let me try to 'plain myself.
Back before equal rights, before equal opportunity black folks had to work to eat. They had to do whatever to just stay alive. A few were well off or had goodsteady 40+ hours a week jobs. Those that weren't well off (owned property etc.)Blacks picked cotton, watermelons, cucumbers, apples, peaches, etc., etc., anything to make a living. That is until some DUmbass invented welfare and foodstamps. Since then all they've ever picked was the taxpayers pocket.
After equal rights, equal opportunity the well off and those with ambition, some get up and go got up and went. Ergo your How is Herman Cain picking the taxpayers pockets? Larry Elders? Walter Williams? Armstrong Williams? Thomas Sowell? Angela McGlowan? James Earl Jones? Ward Connerly? Niger Innis? etc., etc., etc.?
Those that never were going to be successful found that by voting for the right people allowed them to suck the government tit and never have to do those menial jobs again. So in come the illegal aliens to do them. I never saw migrant or illegal Allen workers in the fields when I was a kid.
So when some politician said... Latino farmworkers be deported -- and that African-Americans from the inner city be bused to farm country to pick the crops. I knew or at least thought I knew who he was talking about, those that have never worked, aren't going to work and are unwilling to work unless they are very hungry. Hungar is a good motivator sometimes.
