Built in 1952, she still holds, to this day, the record for fastest Trans Atlantic voyage for a cruise ship.
Me and a friend were coming out of Philly yesterday, and just slowed down a bit on the freeway to see her better.
I personally, if I had the money, would turn her back into a seaworthy ocean liner.
The SS United States Conservation purchased the ship earlier this year, though she is not saved, there is so much work that needs to be done, and I would help in any way I could if I could
Just thought I'd share
