The couches are free...getting rid of bedbugs....priceless.

Business idea.

Get a big truck.
Fill it with all the crap you cannot dump in a landfill anymore and have to pay someone to dispose of it.
Charge people less than that and haul it to an abandoned area in Detroit and dump it.
Profit.

That idea has merit, until you factor in that most of the city could technically qualify as having been "abandoned" and that fact, right there, means there are more dumping opportunities than there is stuff to dump.

But then, you've got to pay off the mayor and all of his buddies for the privilege of treating a shithole like a shithole.

Not sure it's worth it.

I should have been more clear. Take the material you want to dump from locations outside of Detroit and then dump it the abandoned areas in Detroit. Do it sneaky-like to avoid having to grease any palms.

Well, it's not like there's much chance of a police patrol stumbling on you while you're doing it, or angry residents calling them -- or the police responding even if they did.

Good point, Fiddy/DAT.

Let's fire up them dumpsters and get 'em rollin'!

Any ol' shithole will do! The locals wouldn't recognize the difference anyway.

(I say all this, cringing because I and Mrs E are slated to return to Motown in early August to visit with my brother, who hasn't learned to escape the suck. But at least we're gonna go see the Tigers lose. Again.)
