I hope not. I want him to make the mistake of underestimating Herman. Matter of fact, I want'em all to underestimate him. He would be the first "non-establishment" Republican candidate in a long while.

Hell, come to think of it, I think Reagan was the last one.

Nah, you could easily (and correctly) claim Reagan was also an "establishment" candidate with his serving two terms as CA governor.

You might have to go back to Eisenhower.

But wasn't Reagan one of the last people the people in the beltway wanted in the White House? Didn't they try to cast him aside as a "cowboy movie star", and nothing more?

That's my point. This election has the chance of being what the people want, not what the establishment gives us, and by that, I'm saying that, normally, they're very influential. IMO conservatives are more involved now than any time I can remember, since I started voting that is.
