I don't know how to copy and paste from the DU to over here. But someone who can, please go over to the DUmp and copy the thread entitled "This morning the woman in the car next to me turned around and slapped her child so hard his head"

You know darn well that it is made up. If it were real, the woman hitting her child would have given that chick the finger and drove off. I love how they portray themselves as superheroes! lol! Anyway, here is my attempt to copy and paste it.

This morning the woman in the car next to me turned around and slapped her child so hard his head hit the window. A little kid in a car seat. I yelled and waved until she looked up and saw me--and she gave me a dirty look. I yelled at her "KNOCK IT OFF!" (She was still leaning over the seat screaming at the kid). When she realized I had seen her she gave me a look like, "What?".

And then I picked up my phone and showed it to her. This look crossed over her face and suddenly she was real sorry... she starts mouthing "NO, NO" and waving her hands at me. I called the cops and reported her.

People!! What is going on these days? I'm a teacher and a mandatory reporter for abuse and on average, per year, I make one phone call. This school year I've made ELEVEN calls about three different kids. (In December on a 27 degree day with snow coming down I was in the grocery store parking lot and a woman came walking up the street with a 3 year old, on a leash, in short pants and a t-shirt. The kid was practically blue).

Something bad is happening in my part of the country. My fear is that all these social services cuts are showing up in neglect and abuse of our most vulnerable people. Nobody is watching out for them!

My stomach knots up when I think of this poor little kid from this morning. I hope the police caught up with them fast.

It's easy to do just copy then hit the quote button and paste.

This is what we call a "Bouncy". It is a made up story that usually involves some immediate liberal topic. It involves outrageous behavior by a hate target of the DUches and ends with the DUche being a hero or converting said hate target to the DUches POV.

In my state any child that is less than 4'9" has to be in a car seat, so that does not tell us much about the age. In addition, my money says that the kid was jerking away and not taking the brunt of the blow. Since it never happened, NBD.

As we all know, rather than any physical punishment, misbehaving children should be given pharmaceuticals to correct the problem.

81. My students have very expensive medical care and special needs.
   
I actually only have one student who still lives with her family. The rest are wards of the state. :0(

But, a single mom can't work and raise a special needs kid with big medical issues. I ran a meeting for a family last week and the mom summed it up very clearly. The state allows her four hours of respite care a week. Just enough time to get to the pharmacy to pick up pills and go grocery shopping. Her husband works two fulltime jobs.

Poor mom. I thought she was going to cry the entire meeting...but she was freaking out--scared she would run out of time before she could get to the grocery store.

What is she doing when her children are in school? 

Granted -- being a mother who walks in these shoes I can attest that raising a child with special needs is extremely expensive.  My out-of-pockets are through the roof, and I don't work.   However she can do these errands when her child is in school.

If the kid was in a car seat, how could his head hit the window?   :???:  My 7 year old grandson sits in a high-back booster seat, but his head would have hit the back of the seat, where it curves around, not the window.    ::)

Nice catch!  Wouldn't be a very good car seat if a slap would have the kid's hit the window when it is designed for an 8G car crash.

I have seen many parents who have jackets on but have their kids in short sleeve shirts or babies in nothing more than a light weight jumper in the middle of winter.  One time I saw a mother with shoes on pulling her little shoeless girl by the hand across the black top parking lot in the middle of the hot Texas summer. The mom was screaming at her daughter to shut the hell up as she was crying in pain.  :censored:

This past winter, towards the end of January, I was buckling The Heiress into her car seat when she said, "I'm shivery."  So, I backed up a bit and wondered what I was going to do about it.  It's 3 miles to the daycare, which takes me 5-7 minutes.  I saw a Woolrich OD green blanket next to her, still in its plastic wrapper that Cabela's sent it to me in.  Well!  Daddy's got an idea!  I ripped the plastic off and put it around her legs.  She lit right up.  We got to the daycare, and she was all smiles--her legs were warm!  Every day since then, she's asked me to put the blanket over her legs.  Every day, I do it for my little girl.  Even on the days we had not too long ago when it was almost 70 at the time.  Things should be different when one has children.  The thoughts have to be on them first, then the adults.

Probably ratted out another Dem voter.  With any luck "Slugger" noted the stupid DU bumpersticker and will avenge this slight by voting for some fringe loon instead of the Dem candidate.

I never get into any bouncy situations like DUmmy Snotport. But I do enjoy watching the birkenstock pinheads at the mall who have their rugrats on halters with leashes. Not as common as it used to be, but they're still out there.

Actually, they're not quite as bad as the parents who let their little savages run wild in stores and restaurants. I'd rather see them on leashes or in little cages. Most people don't think undisciplined kids are cute at all.

After my second child was born, I put my 2 year old on a leash when we went out.  The last straw was when he jerked his hand away and ran out an open door, right in front of a car.  Thank God, the driver saw him and stopped.  That was his last trip without a leash for quite some time!! 

I had a couple old ladies give me flack about it, but that's a small price to pay to keep my child alive.

I am not going to raise a liberal/progressive child.  When my daughter acts up, she WILL get punished.  Call the cops on me, bitch.  It's not like I couldn't write down YOUR license plate number and find your address and give you a nice smack upside the head after work.

Yeah, I agree...I AM a single mother now and doing this. The respite is not enough for what I really need it for (before or after school care). I truly don't know what's down the road when that $ runs out and the options run out...I'm just hoping the budget opens back up for teleworking. I never get to use respite to shop alone. Like you said, what is she doing when they are at school if she is home? Before I started working, I not only ran those kinds of errands, but I cleaned house and worked out for 90 minutes in the daytime along with pursuing a degree. I used that time to run errands alone and take time for myself. I don't get what she's talking about. Now working, there is none of that. My child can stay with his older sister for a while and my mother sometimes, otherwise he goes with me unless dad has him.

About six months after I had my stroke (1995) I babysat kids to help pay my medical bills. I took 4 kids (only one of the kids were mine, my other one was in school), all under the age of two to the grocery store and to my doctor visits ( which were very frequent).  One was a newborn at first (I watch him for two years). Like you, you do what you have to. I know what you have gone through over the last few years, you are a superwoman.

Neither do we.  Believe me, there are times The Boy would prefer the quick, simple, "done and over with" penance of a spanking over things like "On your face", "the chair", or "arms out".
