GOP slams White House for suspected qcoffee shop meetings

House Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee raised concerns at a Tuesday hearing that White House staffers hold meetings at a nearby Caribou Coffee to avoid disclosure requirements.

"White House staff apparently purposely schedule meetings at the Caribou Coffee around the corner from the White House so that those meetings won’t show up on the White House logs," said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Calif.), chairman of the Oversight subcommittee. >>>

Stearns pointed to President Obama, who as a candidate said healthcare negotiations would air on C-SPAN, an idea that never came to fruition.

"This president has apparently gone out of his way to avoid transparency even though he said he would be transparent," Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) said.

This Caribou Coffee shop is owned by a bank that practices Sharia Law (apparently 87% owned by First Islamic Investment Bank). And in fact this Sharia-compliant chain is the 2nd largest in the country.

And notice that writer Sara Jerome and The Hill's editors call Judicial Watch "a conservative group" but CREW is not identified as a liberal group.

It does seem odd though. Ive read someone mention that he/she sees advertisements on this site. But Ive never seen any.

White House Brownout on Clandestine Coffee Klatches

A House hearing Tuesday on the Obama administration’s pledge to conduct a transparent White House lacked one key element—transparency.

That’s because Brad Kiley, director of the White House Office of Management and Administration, refused to appear before the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on oversight and investigations to answer questions about top officials meeting with lobbyists and political activists at local coffeehouses in order to circumvent public disclosure and scrutiny.

The records of only 1% of 500,000 meetings during President Obama’s first eight months of office have been made public, according to the Center for Public Integrity.

Homeland Security: President Obama promised lobbyists wouldn't run his White House. They're just doing it from across the street — at a Shariah-compliant coffee chain tied to a radical jihadist group.

That's right: According to the New York Times, prominent K Street lobbyists are buttonholing Obama officials at a Caribou Coffee shop on Pennsylvania Avenue, raising far more than just ethics questions. What the Times story neglects to mention is that Caribou Coffee is a Shariah-compliant firm owned by an Islamic bank based in Bahrain. One of its founders and a current adviser are leaders in the radical Muslim Brotherhood.
