I guess she was paying by direct debit and her account had plenty of money in it. Of course she wouldn't have been using much energy unless the heating or air con was on when she died.
Yeah. I didn't think about that, because I don't pay utilities that way. But still, the meter reader goes to the house once a month, I would think he/she would have noticed something was up. At the very least, the way things are so overgrown, they would have griped about access to the meters. And if things were so overgrown, how come the city didn't investigate...they do around here.
Something about this just doesn't set right. If the body was next to a small heater, wouldn't it have smelled pretty awful at some point?
