Gadhafi's youngest son (and grandchildren) killed in NATO airstrike

BENGHAZI, Libya -- A NATO airstrike Saturday night killed the youngest son of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and three of his grandsons at his son's home in Tripoli, the Libyan government said.

NATO hadn't confirmed late Saturday that it carried out the airstrike that killed Seif al-Arab Gadhafi, 29. Regime officials said that Moammar Gadhafi and his wife were visiting the home when it was struck, but both were unharmed.

Yeah well Obama also said we weren't going to put boots on the ground, even though when he said it we already had special forces there (still do) working with British SAS and French GIGN.

What going to happen is, Iran or Iran and somebody else (or several somebody else's) are going to join Gadhafi and come after us...us as in US....cause it's going to be only the US's fault the kids and grandBABIES are dead.

Why in the hell are we there?

If this is how a (Fraction of) NATO force protects innocent civilians, which is all the authority they have for anything beyond taking down the Libyan air force from the UN resolution, I sure hope my town isn't on their Christmas card list.

Germans made the right call in deciding to stay home on this one.

This is no surprise to me but there are reports coming out now from several sources that are saying the initial report of Ghaddafi's son and 3 grandchildren being killed may either be a lie or at least exaggerated a little.

It's common for countries who are bombed or attacked in a war or conflict to lie about what was bombed or who was killed.  Countries that are attacked love to claim that the building hit was a daycare center or baby food factory, etc...  Anything to tug at the heart-strings and make the attacker look bad.

We'll find out soon enough what the truth is.

I wouldn't bet on 'Soon,' all the sources raising those questions have their own dog in the fight, and are therefore just as suspect as official Libyan releases.

Ya know...I was thinking that the other day when the news was showing them shooting their own people who were in the streets protesting.
