Solargraphy
« on: April 24, 2011, 12:06:50 PM »
I doubt many hear know about it or have tried it so I thought I'd post about it as it's awesome. I've done it and it's really simple to do.

In simple terms it's photo with a long exposure time, typically 1 week to 6 months however, several done over 2 years exist.

This more or less sums it up...
Quote
Solarigrafia, solarigraphy, solargraphy is a photographic method for recording the paths of the Sun. Solargraphy is the art of pinhole photography and a part of Space Art, too.

Solarigraphics or solargraphs are pinhole photographs taken with a lensless pinhole camera with a long exposure. By doing so the invisible movements of the Sun can be made visible in landscapes.

Here are some examples...

I've done several but can't get a link from flicker to post them yet.

Notice the gaps in the line are when it was cloudy and the sun wasn't out.

It's very easy to do...The average camera for it looks like this...
