Also, just a couple of days ago he said he was sitting at the computer, high.  A few weeks ago he said he was going to attempt to get off morphine.  I just don't know.

The things you guys are saying about people starting Wednesdays and quitting on Mondays just kind of shock me.  I don't get the flakiness.  I knew a guy who started on a Monday, and had quit by lunchtime.  He had 3 kids and a stay-at-home wife, too.  WTF?   :???:

A few years back I was working as a temp at a tractor factory. The hours were long, the factory was hot, and the work was hard.
I lost count of how many new guys would go to lunch, never to return. In fact everytime we had a newbie we would bet on how long they would last.  :-)

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Maybe someone can explain what a C-level is, because I've never heard that term.  I'm familiar with levels and tiers in the helpdesk system but I have yet to come across one that uses letters.  If it's the same as tier 1/level 1, those are the jobs that have mostly been outsourced to call centers and those guys generally don't speak English as a native language.

How bad do you have to suck to piss off a room full of phone monkeys in India?

I'm assuming it means Corporate, but I could be wrong. Since coach and Cigarette Girl started speaking Eye-tie, there's been a lot of stuff around here I don't understand.

This thread pisses me off.
You have a mortgage and kids to support and yet you're quiting your "down grade" job?  What the hell?  I don't care how much your job sucks, KEEP WORKING.  You need the money to support your family, idiot.  I don't get it.  Why?  Why would you do that?  This is a DUmmie.  Why even bother trying to figure out their mentality.
DUmmie is using "stress" as a scapegoat. Just an excuse to "not wake up in the morning and go to work".
Why would a NORMAL person in their RIGHT mind ever quit a job in this economy?! None that I can think of.

If he had a job, and that's a gigantic "if", this might be a clue to why he no longer has it:

Apparently Dumpmonkeys!

I've worked in jobs I hated before. It motivated me to get more skills so I could leave. Even then I gave the employer notice, usually two weeks, sometimes a month. I never told them the real reason why I was quitting, I usually gave them some line about how it was a better opportunity for me, how I hated quitting, etc, for the simple reason that someday down the road I might have to come back and ask them for a job.  I've never had to go back to any former employer but if I had to, I bet they would hire me if they had a position open.

Perky rule #1 on jobs: It is always easier to get a job when you already have one.

ALWAYS leave on good terms.  You're going to have to supply references from each job.  If you don't, it looks real funny.  And not funny haha.

You can go to Bablyon.com for a quick translation, GOBUCKS.  Here's what it did with Frank's right there.

Actually, having gone to high school when Latin was still a subject studied by nearly everyone who aspired to higher education, coach's most recent Euroquote was on the frayed edge of my ability to understand.

No, no, no.  That is all wrong.

The first quote, properly translated from Italian into English, is "it's all good, sir."

I dunno how that computer translator got that; I use an old (1947) English-Italian dictionary I found here.

The second quote, properly translated from Italian into English, is "may your rectal aperture be sealed up forever, and may you never have the relief that comes with expulsion from the bowels."  (n.b.: sanitized translation)

Computer translations are junk.

edited by franksolich to change "permanently" to "forever;" sorry for the inconvenience, and carry on.....
