Huggies, Papa John's Pizza Pull Ads From Left-Wing Blog Attacking TRIG Palin
By Warner Todd Huston (Pamphleteer) on April 20th, 2011

Note, I was going to ignore this story, but since advertisers are pulling out over it, I felt I'd better write about it.

One of the left's favorite websites is called Wonkette. It is popular because it has a reputation of being newsie, yet snarky, sort of like a less intelligent version of Comedy Central's Daily Report. Truth be known it is more often than not merely profane as opposed to humorous or droll and for some of its advertisers the profane site has gone too far with its April 18 post making fun of Trig Palin, a child with Down's Syndrome.

Wonkette "writer" Jack Stuef decided it would be "fun" to mark Trig Palin's third birthday by posting a "funny" post calling the child "retarded," demeaning Trig's intelligence as America's "great gentleman scholar," Saying that Todd Palin molested his own daughter and that resulted in Trig's birth, saying that the child can't dream because "he's retarded," making fun of Trig's sister, Piper, for loving the boy, and saying that because he has Down's Syndrome, Trig is only "somewhat alive."

That is a lot of hate for a three year old developmentally disabled child, isn't it? Imagine. Leftists think all that hate spewed upon a child is "humor." Sort of tells you where leftists are coming from, doesn't it?

Years ago I was a supervisor for Papa Johns down in Florida and got the chance to meet John Schnatter at a conference in Louisville.  Helluva guy all around.  Pretty conservative too IIRC.
Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish

Women and children are precious resources to be protected at all costs.  Men are expendable commodities whose function is to protect those resources, at all costs.

So how does it feel to know that someone's kid in the heart of america has blood on their hands to defend your rights so you can maintain a lifestyle that insults his family's existence?

When even Alan Colmes comes out against it, you know it's bad:

I am clearly not a Sarah Palin fan. And I don’t like that she uses her family as political props; woe to anyone who criticizes them, even if they put themselves out there as paid advocates for celibacy (after not being celibate) and go on dance shows. (Thankfully, Jennifer Grey won.)

However, the political satire site Wonkette did something truly despicable by mocking Trig Palin on his third birthday. I’m not going to link to it.  Calling a Down Syndrome child “Reagan II” while presenting a montage that also features a bottomless Sarah Palin pole dancing while gyrating toward an image of her child is the attention-getting graphic. Then comes the reprehensible copy:

Today is the day we come together to celebrate the snowbilly grifter’s magical journey from Texas to Alaska to deliver to the America the great gentleman scholar Trig Palin. Is Palin his true mother? Or was Bristol? (And why is it that nobody questions who the father is? Because, either way, Todd definitely did it.) It doesn’t matter. What matters is that we are privileged to live in a time when we can witness the greatest prop in world political history.

Next comes a poem written to Trig that mentions him dreaming. Then the post, written by Jack Stuef, proclaims, “What’s he dreaming about? He’s retarded.” So, let’s joke about incest and the disabled. This is the kind of stuff that makes birthers look sane. And then there is the implication that Sarah Palin caused her child to be born with Down Syndrome. I’m quite familiar with the ramifications of such a baseless accusation, as I was falsely accused of saying that Palin’s actions led to her child’s condition. I quickly put up a post explaining that I was critical of Palin’s decision to travel from Texas to Alaska after contractions began and water broke and that I was in no way relating her actions to her child’s condition. Wonkette goes where I did not:

His mom went to a lot of trouble to leak amniotic fluid over 8 states to make sure that he arrived in this world somewhat alive,” writes Wonkette operative “Barbara_i,” reminding us of the occasion.

Alex Alvarez at Mediaite rightfully takes Wonkette to task for its vile take. Tommy Christopher works to get Wonkette’s side of the story.

In what galaxy is this funny? Or even satire?  Go after Sarah Palin if you must. She’s a public figure. Attack an adult. Lash out at someone your own size. Or maybe that’s what they were doing.

I hadn't heard this.  My God!

Someone didn't get the memo about not letting the mask slip to show the true face of liberalism.  They declare themselves the champions of the disabled, but deep down their hearts are black as night.

Yep.  Smug and arrogant SOBs.  They think they are the only ones who can get away with such things (imagine their outcry had a conservative said something like that about Obama's kids) and they only backtrack begrudgingly when they are forced to.

And that is the ONLY reason they backed down and finally removed the post.  It's all about the bottom line.  In removing the post, they may retain some advertisers.  They might have eventually lost them all if they had stuck to their guns.

I visited the DUmp to see what they had to say.  Cali made a post, and was appropriately outraged.  A handful of comments echoed the outrage.  Here were two that did not, exactly:

9. Palin calls Trig a retard, too.
How come she gets a free pass on this?

Apparently, that link is Levi Johnston claiming that Sarah did that.  Real credible.

12. She's taking ad dollars from Papa John's?
They're slave wagers. I'm guessing Wonkette didn't cover the Papa John's employees protest against no sick days.
::)

which killed the thread.

Here's something else from Jack Steuf, gleaned from the DUmp.  Link

Quote
The Night Before 9/11
Twas the night before 9/11, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, according to public statements by P. Goss.
The Abu Ghraib hoods were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Dick Cheney soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of dead Iraqi kids danced in their heads.
While mamma in her Snuggie, and I in my cap,
Role-played “Jessica Lynch getting rescued,” to which I do fap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from our camo sheets to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like an RPG,
Tore open the shutters and threw up my vodka Hi-C.

Aside from being tasteless, that's really really bad writing.

Those vile and loathsome people at Wonkette are the true face of liberalism, imo.  Since "everybody" knows liberals are more educated and enlightened than those ignorant conservatives :whatever: it's perfectly fine for a member of the left to criticize and demean someone on the right, or their child, because well, it's all for a good cause.  It's acceptable, nay, it's a liberal's CALLING to bitchslap conservative Americans around, because it's for their own good.  Conservatives, you see, are small minded, ignorant, bigoted and in sore need of education as to where their best interests lie.

I THINK I covered their miniscule mindset above.

I already buy Huggies for my grandson, so I'm glad I won't have to switch brands.  IMO they make the best fitting product.
