Tea Party Members of Congress Say Speaker John Boehner is Doing an 'Awesome' Job
Four Tea Party Members Sit Down With ABC's Jonathan Karl

 BY JONATHAN KARL
April 20, 2011

In fact, Boehner's support among freshman Republicans tied to the Tea Party movement is stronger than it has ever been, they say. Boehner himself has said there's "no daylight" between him and the Tea Party movement. That may just be right.

ABC News brought together four freshman Republicans for a roundtable discussion on the Speaker's leadership during the first 100 days of the new Republican majority in the House. They come from four different parts of the country, each elected on a wave of Tea Party support. None was thrilled with the compromise Boehner brokered to avert a government shutdown, but all give him high marks for fighting hard.

Sounds to me like the "re-election hammer" has come out of the velvet casing.  Sing the party song or no re-election cash for you next year.

And you wonder why George Washington believed that political parties would be the death of his infant Republic.  :thatsright:

They were tea party candidates -- since when did that matter?

And what - specifically - defined them as TEA party candy-dates, as opposed to your regular, run-of-the-mill, pole cat republican politician?  Because they claimed TEA party affiliation?  Because they mouthed all the right platitudes when they were running for election?

Congress-shits are Congress-shits.  Any more, it doesn't matter what party they're from, or what they tell the electorate they supposedly believe in.  When you get right down to it, Congress-shits of every stripe believe in one thing and one thing only: getting re-elected.  Period.  End of story.

Oh for fun, for fun.    ABC interviewed tea party members of Congress.   Your issue is actually with them, not ABC.    ABC being the medium is not excatly germane to their message -- there is a video of the interview at the link by the way.

That said, I read a wide spectrum of news everyday.  I saw this and just had to post, specifically to get this predictable response from you.

So these tea party members of Congress are now RINOs.     Gotcha.

Who do you support for the presidential nomination?  and who do you think should be speaker of the house (who realistically has a shot of getting the votes for that position)?

They are members of the tea party caucus; they claimed to be tea party members during their campaign; and they were heavily supported by the tea party.

Ellmers for instance:

I totally get that we need more, however I don't see that Boehner (or anyone else) could have got more.    Government shut down would have killed us in 2012 -- hell Boehner's approval rating is taking a serious hit right now with independents based on this deal alone.

Keeping the heat on members of Congress = good.   Dubbing everyone a RINO and threatening they are being replaced = nonproductive.

JMHO.

If he was making this crowd of naysayer happy, he'd be screwing the pooch bigger than Gingrich did.
